Oh really? I thought it had to be removed based on previous posts. I might have to install preemptively if It's not too terrible a job.

Well I can't actually say for sure as I haven't done one.
But according to the workshop manual it is possible to remove the shield (both old one and new one) without removing the generator.

Yes I have installed it on the 2.7, and yes you have to remove the alternator to install it.

The process is a complete pain , is it worth it?

It is if you are changing out the alternator because you fried it. :)

does it help anything? no idea as frying your alternator once makes you a bit more cautious of what you bomb through for a little while :)

Why is Ford calling it a generator instead of alternator? Because the current Ford engineers are too young to know the difference?

Oh okay nevermind, I thought it was something new that FP came out with. This is just the standard shield installed on Broncos after MY22. Carry on
I must understand that if my BADLAND is a 2023 I have this protection on my alternator yes or no? Please

The auxillary switch option upgrades to a bigger alternator.
No it doesn’t. I just looked up a bronco with and without the switches, they have the same alternator.

The 110V power outlet is what determines which alternator. So standard package has a different one than Mid/high/lux
