I really only havd an issue with the placement in the Bronco. Would much prefer if it was in the center console in easy reach. It's also annoying that they changed the operation/orientation from the earlier Bronco's.

Don't need an electronic brake for that! Back in '11 or'12, I pulled my 6 speed '11 camaro out of my garage and parked in a parking spot with a slight incline (condo). Was getting my surfboard out of the garage when I heard a large bang from the direction my Camaro was parked. Ran outside thinking someone had hit it, but not a soul in sight. Looked at the Camaro, it was fine. But then I noticed the wheels starting to turn ever so slightly! Ran over, hopped in (good thing I didn't lock it) and stopped it. The e-brake handle had fallen all by itself. From then on I always parked with it both in gear and the e-brake set.I fear the day the e-brake fails with no real warning and you find your car rolls into the street and into oncoming traffic
then who’s responsible for that debacle?
I do miss it. You could tell it was actually engaged quite easily without an alert on the dash. I have had quite a few instances coming out of neutral tow where the parking brake has been reported on. When this happens, I cautiously open the door, engage the brake and listen, and disengage the brake and listen. I then put it in neutral and try to move the vehicle to ensure it is disengaged. I then drive for awhile and eventually it goes away. Kind of annoying...Having a Bronco on order since Aug 17, we couldn't take it anymore and bought an almost identical 2024 Bronco off a nearby lot. Proud owners of a Big Bend, two door, manual transmission, tube steps and mid package in velocity blue. We didn't order the tow, switches, and floor liners, but no big deal, considering.
First time driving a Bronco: What, no hand brake? My 2021 Ranger has one as did our ex Focus. The electric parking brake seems a bit whimpy to use. I still grab for the brake. Instrument panel? I could do without the bar graph tachometer seeing I have a pseudo analog tach in the Ranger on all the time. I think a tach is fun with a stick shift (which I wish the Ranger had).
Love the Bronco, impressed with the ride, power and handling. Like I said, we couldn't wait!
Multiple cases on here where the Bronco was left in gear but still rolls without the PB being on. The little 4 cyl while plenty powerful enough with the turbo lacks enough compression to hold the heavyweight Bronco from rolling. I’d prefer a manual brake where I know 100% the brake is on. Sure there is a light with the E Brake but what happens when there is an electrical issue and it doesn’t deploy? You are. Leave it in gear.
I don't have any particular attachment to a handbrake. I do miss a foot-controlled high beam switch though.
Because you've never once heard of a cable operated parking brake failing?I fear the day the e-brake fails with no real warning and you find your car rolls into the street and into oncoming traffic

I'm thinking it should be possible for a jumper harness to wire a new switch in parallel. Leave the factory one alone and move a new one to the center console.Hmm, perhaps a good place to relocate it to will be the center console on the left side (where the power mirror switch SHOULD be). I can’t imagine it’ll be too hard to move the switch over there, build a jumper harness to wire it in, and 3d print a cover to put over the hole where the current one is.
I’ve never seen one fail after it was applied. Stuck in the cold but no failures while the vehicle was parked.Because you've never once heard of a cable operated parking brake failing?
