I've been running Firestone Destination A/T2 on several vehicles and I really like them.

I'd definitely go with a 285 to save fuel economy. As you posted a 285/75/17 still looks tough. The biggest the Destination A/T2 goes is the 285/70/17 though.

The Conti comes in larger sizes AFAIK.

Light wheels will help a ton too.

RTR wheels are 22lbs each.

It's not worth it. I've tried a bunch of different combos, at one point I had 5 different sets on hand. I ended up pairing my favorite wheel with my favorite tire and run that 100% of the time now.

The Territories are a really daily driver tire and swapping them onto a light wheel makes for a peppy ride.

buy some outer banks take offs. those come with a road tire and 18" wheel can probably be had for very cheap.

What is the offset on those though? I feel like I’d need a 2” hub spacer to look right.

I'd keep the stock GY tires as the road tire and get a better offroad tire , a true MUD Terrain or something more "luggy".
Goodyear has openly stated the MT stands for Max Traction, and they were not talking about Mud or Offroad. It is an All-terrain by any tire gurus standard.

Or as Tricky Mike stated, just get a tire that works good enough for you in all your driving needs.

No experience with either, but I'm eyeing the Mickey Thompson Baja AT and waiting on the new Nokian Outpost nAT. Main reason for the Nokian is I KNOW they will perform in the winter, which is VERY important for me.

With the weather changing and the newer compounds abilities, I'm moving away from doing winter & summer sets.
The Michelin Cross climate will be on the Outback and probably, maybe Nokians for trucks/Broncos. The Firestone Destination AT2 has been getting excellent reviews, as has the Mickey's I referenced above.

OP wanted a 285/75. What's the diameter on that Nitto?

OP said, he wanted a "narrower" tire and is considering "maybe" a 285. I offered "narrower" tires that are about the same diameter as the Sas tire. The Nitto is 34.5 vs the 34.4 GY. While the Recon does seem to be better on the road, it is heavier, but it seems any descent 285-75 will also be heavier. Even the Yoko Geolandar is heavier, and it looks like a station wagon tire.

There's a Kenda Klever at 35*10.50R17LT that's 11" wide and close to a true 35". I want to say I've heard folks who run them say they're good on the road. Definitely a pizza cutter. Almost $450/tire, though.

They are awesome tires both on and off road. I paid $250 ea on Amazon a few months ago.

I have the 2.3 10 speed. Ave right at 18mpg with a mix of city/ highway. Goes to about 15.5 on my trips to Calif but that is at 80-85 mph. Milage with these is just a little under what I was getting with the stock 33" KO 2

New to this group and awaiting delivery of our 24 bronco OB. Wanting a similar wheel offset (Black Rhino Fuji +38mm) and same tire size as yours. Did you do the 2" lift for clearance or for stance? Did you removal crash bars? Do your tires poke beyond the flares? Thanks

I have a 2024 2 DR Badlands SAS with OEM Goodyear M/T tires. They seem very noisy on the road and pick up gravel easily. Only 2000 mi on them. What would be a great tire to replace for gravel roads, limited snow ( Western NC) and quiet on paved roads and handling on our curvy roads? Falken Wildpeak AT 4/W?

Toyo Open Country AT3, we have a set
on my wife’s Bronco Sport and when my factory GYs wear down i’ll be switching to them. they’re happy in the snow, they rule on mixed condition dirt / gravel roads, and are plenty comfortable with good road manners.
