Ammo Can for Compressor

I just purchased one of these:

It needs to remain portable so I can throw it in the superduty when we're out in my wife's trailer (that's what I call the RV now that the cargo conversion (my trailer) is done).
I have this laying around:

The carrying bag that came with the pump is pure Chinesium. I can mount the pump inside the box. Before I go through the effort, is there a downside I'm not seeing? Yes, I know I have to leave the lid off while I'm running the pump.

Lol. Thanks. I figured it'd vent okay with the lid off. Now the echo chamber you're describing . . . Take the bottom plate off and run it in the box before drilling and mounting; check.

A little birdie told me that Thors Lightnig is coming out with a pelican version of their product.

Not affiliated, but those guys are a bunch of awesome retired LEOs and Vets making solid American made products.

These compressors run very hot, my only concern would be reduced airflow to the cooling fins. With the lid off it should be minimal though.

Yes, that would worry me more if the fins weren’t at the top of the compressor, closest to the opening.

The Air Armor is a single lung compressor. I imagine you checked the dual lung conpressor will fit in the box.

Like its been said above... Heat is a big thing with compressors. "Hot on Contact" so be mindful handling the ammo box when done...

I started to get a little ocd about the uneven bottom once I bolted it in the box. Rubber feet on the bottom of the box. Duh! OCD+OCD=perfect (This time).

Why not pickup one of those canvas tool bags from Harbor freight? You can keep a mess of other stuff in one of those. Obviously you would have to take the compressor out while using it. I use these bags for lots of my tools and goodies.

Yeah, I have a yard sale craftsman bag that might work. I'm only using it for the drill I use to raise and lower the cargo trailer tongue jack. Why not just, indeed. KISS.
