Been doing this one every 5000 miles for over 20 years... And I get great wear out of tires that people can't get to wear right.

Obvious question, but why is there a "proper sequence" to rotating a tire outside of clockwise or counter-clockwise? Figure there's a reason, just want to know what.

I do the 5 tire rotation per the lower pictures as well. I do it every 2500 miles, which is only 2X a year in my case. I prefer the lower picture rotation as putting the spare on the front I'd be worried about different diameters and steering wheel being off center.

Like many things, it shouldn't matter so long as you do it the same way each time. So if you do them yourself just follow the same pattern...but since most people take their vehicles somewhere like a Discount Tire or the dealership a "right way" has to be established so that they are consistent as possible.

Too many variables to answer that. Start with the tire you choose, some give more mileage than others. Then there's the air pressure you opt for, driving style, type and amount of off-roading you do, and lots of other things. The issue should be that you do it regularly & consistently, maintaining alignment and are alert to repairing road damage, proper inflation, and watch for inconsistent wear.

Exactly. Same way every time. Some on here want to argue your spare HAS to go to a specific spot. It doesn't, but it does need to go to the same spot each time.
