Yeah every dealership is at least 1 and half months out.. its ridiculous. And ford care will only tow to the nearest ford dealership. Which is the one thats 3 months out. Thank god i got tow insurance or this situation would be even more sour, gotta be honest i think they have lost me as a customer for life after this. The lack of caring about how i could now be carless for more than 3 months on a car thats practically brand new really let me down. For the kind of money we spend on these things they should be able to work something out.
Not true you can get on the phone and have then tow to any dealer you want within 40 miles I believe. Definitely know within 25 miles.

How good are you with wiring looks like you should be able to repair this your self fairly easily.

I would think the easiest way to approach this would be to peel back some of the wire protector then strip back the wires. Probably want to replace the actual plug end and rewire all three as you don't have much to work with on the blue wire.

Or just do a jumper and terminate both ends of the chewed through blue wire and call it a day

They are pushy about not doing it just like to point out if people track back across this thread when looking for advice.

i think you're right. Blue wire is completely broken. Is this repairable? Can you link the part i would need?
Yep, that's your problem! here is the part number for the pigtail connector. I would just wire a new one in. HU2Z-14S411-BA

Would they sell something like this at an auto shop? Do i just unwrap the tape and disconnect the old and plug in the new?

They probably wouldn't have this exact connector, no. You'll need to buy this exact connector from a dealership or maybe you can find it online.

You'll need to cut off the old connector and chewed wiring, cut back some of the harness tape to get to a good part of the wires that isn't chewed, strip some of the wiring insulation back, then splice the new connector on. You can solder it if you want, but the crimps that are supplied with this pigtail connector are more than adequate for the job. Don't forget to put the heat shrink over the wiring before crimping or soldering the wires. then just melt the heat shrink and tape up the harness.

If you aren't comfortable with wiring, you can just buy the connector and have any shop wire it on. Doesn't need to be a Ford dealership.

Figured they would charge an arm and a leg, i think i am just over thinking it. If its as straight forward as twisting three wires together and then tapping i think ill be okay.

My advice. DON’T call the dealership. Go to the service department in person and tell them your issue. A few months ago my 2018 Mustang GT under extended warranty required a water pump change out. When I “ called” them I was told the next available appointment was almost three months out. The following day I went in person to the service desk, told them the issue and was scheduled for an appointment ten days out. I didn’t tell them I called the day before. Now they did have the car for five days, but the service was completed waaaaaaaay before the initial “ earliest we can get you I “ date.

Just make sure they are crimped or soldered, also make sure to use the heat shrink before taping things back up. Both are critical for a correct wiring repair. I would not just twist and tape

Is a jumper just connecting the two broken pieces?

Correct. That would be my approach just make sure you use some quality connectors to ensure a good connection and cover in heat shrink. +100 if you can solder.

This might be the way until my part arrives. What type of wire do you recommend, and would i be able to get it at a hardware store?
