We joke but yeah.... Load up 1,000lbs on your Bronco between armor, winches, camping gear, a d people, and those extra 2 cylinders will become "required" :)
Bronco is kind of a heavy vehicle to begin with, so if loading up or doing much towing, or peddle masher type driving ... v6 is probably the way to go.

That said, I test drove a 2-door Badlands with i4 and manual trans, and it was fun and had enough power on and off road. In everyday use I think the i4 should be fine, and my household packs like on trips. Also I don't drive with a heavy foot.

While it is a possibility, it’s unlikely. Most supersessions are due to a design change to repair an issue with the part, not because of a simple vendor change.
Is there a separate code listed for a vendor? Then, like the USG NSN/PN, a part number could have multiple source of suppliers.

Update: 4 weeks at dealer still waiting on parts to complete the cam phaser replacement. Parts on back order. Unbelievable!

This is why I went with the 2.3L. Best of luck on getting it fixed up

Drove both, didn’t notice an $1800 difference. Actually the motor options are the one thing I dislike about the Bronco. I am a certified geezer and tried and true V8 owner throughout life. The Bronco’s looks alone demand a V8.
Yeah, I'm a geezer too, yet I don't get the V8 thing. I've had several 4's, inline and V6's and up to a 460 V8. My 2.7 has a lot more power (yes, I'm in that 3 month window and it blew up) than my 460 had though it is doubtful that it would pull like it. I don't need the noise of a V8 to be cool anymore, I'm pretty cool on my own (my opinion, my wife may differ).

I don't think there is a way to know. I can't find a date of when the newest number was released. Either way it makes no difference. The newest ones will still more than likely fail eventually

Took delivery of my 2022 Badlands Sasquatch 2.7 last November after a 600+ day order to fulfillment wait time. Performed 5000 mile service interval with dealer. At 6,000 miles I suspect cam phaser due to rattle at cold start up, see video.

Dropped the truck off at dealer on July 1 which was earliest available date. Parts and service department confirmed on phone that they had parts in stock and were familiar with the problem prior to service date. Service tech also told me they would be starting on Wednesday (7/5) when i dropped it off (7/1). Dealer has gone radio silent with no communication since.

I'm super bummed out and don't know whether to cut my loses and sell or hope for full warranty coverage and drive a lemon until the next thing breaks... this entire experience of buying this Bronco has been so frustrating and disappointing. The 5000 miles I got were so much fun, but is it worth it?

My truck is at dealer still. Week 7. Two parts to do the job were on back order. Some gasket and vent tube. On the positive side. I put on 2,000 miles on their loaner instead of my own car. Lol

I also took delivery of my truck November of 22. And at 5700 miles cam phasers went out. So it’s something to do with the engines being built in that time frame. Ford quality gotten extremely bad .

Dealer offered me a half price on a rental from enterprise down the street. Said they didn't hace any loaners any longer.... I'm starting to question if Ford ever wants my business ever again.
