Factory subwoofer mystery.

I have a dummy system in my new bronco too. would you happen to still have the kicker and amp part #s. I would like to add the system to my Bronco, I'd really appreciate it.

What’s the opinion on self installing the sub speaker and amp and asking Ford to do the Forscan portion at my next service apt? I don’t have a hookup module or software or interest in having it.

Dealers are an unlikely choice when using Forscan. It was bad enough getting mine my local dealer to install a genuine Ford Performance ProCal tune on each of our Broncos.

thank you everyone for your help with this, finished install today and couldn’t be happier. Went with the 4ohm kicker and the fusion amp, put an offer in on the eBay listing and scored the amp for $74 shipped, and the sub for 102 delivered; came in perfectly under budget from my $250 credit.

Yes, that’s where the fake sub and amp live.

Same thing here and in 2023 wild track with the High package. Is there really a fake sub in there that is not connected? I have no sound coming from mine either.

Yes, fake sub and fake amp... The speaker has a cone, but no motor assembly (magnet and voice coil). The amp is an empty circuit board also. Fortunately, we have found an easy fix. The Fusion amp and the Kicker 4 ohm sub along with some tuning using Forscan to turn the sub on and off you go!

Yes, when you have it apart, you won’t believe it. From the outside it looks 100% correct. The amp linked above plugs right in. The sub just requires you to make some new screw holes to mount and strip the wires to insert in the Kicker terminals. I have also added some Infinity REF series 4” in the dash with 600hz bass blockers and it really livens up the system.

Don’t forget the need to turn on the sub with Forscan, there are some really good videos on how to do this, simple enough.

Finally got my bronco yesterday! As I settle into it I’ve fallen deep into the rabbit hole of the stereo system. I may have stumbled upon some sort of factory mistake and I’d love to know if the experts have any insight here.

2023 big bend, 2.3, manual,lighting package, aux switches. The window sticker shows the 6 speaker audio system with the -250 credit. Now here’s my question to you.

this is my passenger side rear cargo area….. when I turn the radio up there’s no sound from this area, but is this a factory subwoofer?
