Factory subwoofer mystery.

Finally got my bronco yesterday! As I settle into it I’ve fallen deep into the rabbit hole of the stereo system. I may have stumbled upon some sort of factory mistake and I’d love to know if the experts have any insight here.

2023 big bend, 2.3, manual,lighting package, aux switches. The window sticker shows the 6 speaker audio system with the -250 credit. Now here’s my question to you.

this is my passenger side rear cargo area….. when I turn the radio up there’s no sound from this area, but is this a factory subwoofer?

so is this something I can plug in to? I guess I’m confused as to why I didn’t get a panel with a pocket like everyone else that didn’t get the sub. Is there nothing under this?

what is a fake amp and sub? This is too early to be job 2 so just emptiness where one can go or will job 2 be fake amp but mini sub? Is this an 8” or 10” fit?

@RagnarKon don't you need a Forscan tweak to get the signal to output to the sub channel? I thought I read that somewhere.

So I have forscan, but don’t quite understand what this is to enable it.

It has a “sub” with no magnet and an “amp” with no internal components. I replaced mine with a kicker 6.75 and an actual amp. Plug and play! Works great!

That amp is not functioning... and the sub doesn't have a magnet. Your not getting anything out of that unit....

Do a quick search. You need a ford fusion amp and a new sub to make everything work, and forscan change.
