Wasn't sure if this should go here or not (please move if not). Maybe add another sub-forum on discussing/selling used bronco's?

Curious if anyone has been following auction and/or salvage pricing?
Been looking at These two

https://www.copart.com/lot/36850123/2022-ford-bronco-base-ut-salt-lake-city

(creepy looking red stains on airbag on this one)

https://www.copart.com/lot/37236583/salvage-2022-ford-bronco-base-md-baltimore-east

What do these things usually end up selling for? I don't see any way to see "closed" or "ended" auctions and final prices.

Thats an interesting world, if you're handy, have a shop, do t mind risk and have time to rebuild or part out the vehicle!

Mostly Sports. But a lot of real Broncos also.

What I find interesting is that all the “real” Broncos they have - every single one of them is a Big Bend.

Either somebody doesn’t know what they’re talking about at this auction house and thinks every Bronco is a “Big Bend” - or it’s down right dangerous to drive a Big Bend!!!

Check and check. Plus I was thinking of buying a base/auto, and using portals on it (adding lockers). But now I find out the 3.7X gear is welded to the diff, so I can't even add lockers without re-gearing (even to the same ratio).

I'm fine with the 3.7 gear as portals add gear to be in about the low 5.XX range. I'm also fine with the weaker diff''s, as again, there is gear multiplication down at the portals (my curreect mog 404 portals have about a 8.8" size diff and survived severe abuse with 42/43's for about 20 years, since there is a 2:1 ratio down at portals).

I also may Gozdilla swap it, so it's not like I need any type of warantee (not sure if warantee is gone, if buying salvage).

Yeah, seemed like most of them are called "base" in the ad title. One easy way I found to sort was to check 2.3 and 2.7 as engine options (since sport has neither of them). Suspect they don't really care, but they do know what supposed "actual" value was new, so they know which one's should go for more in final auction price, I guess.

Neither looks like they are worth it. I would look for less airbag deployment. I would look for a rear ended one. Rather do sheet metal in the back then a side or deal with frontal crap (expensive to buy lights/grill).

Both of those examples you posted are Badlands with 4.7 gearing. I paid $32k for my Salvage auction Badlands with all airbags intact. The red one will probably sell in the $24-28k range. The cactus grey one will be over $30k.

Ford factory Warranty is VOID when a vehicle gets declared Salvage. You can get the vehicle back to Rebuilt status, but warranty is always gone.

I chuckled at the “ retail prices” they posted. Lol…Anyway, if one wants a pure off road rig, that gets towed to the trails these would be those. Live on a farm or ranch? One could make a terrific low tech machine with these.

I was going to chime you in here because I knew you did the same thing @OX1 was looking to do.

Actually you can make them legal for the road again. Salvage title does not have to be off-road/farm/ranch only.
