The motor is available "over the counter" for around 120-130 dollars, if my dealer would not replace under warranty, my next solution was going to be to buy the motor, replace it myself and when it corrects the issue, call Ford seeking a refund. We buy all kinds of other goodies for our Bronco's...why not a wiper motor? (and, yes, I agree that it SHOULD be handled by Ford, but in the interest of getting the wipers corrected...)
Yeah that's pretty cheap, all things considered. I may just have the dealer R&R it, if they won't do it under warranty. I have friends on the Ford public relations team. I can just harass them on our behalf, if need be.

Add my 22 November build to the list of broncos doing this......I'm going to try the turn off courtesy wipe then get a flash from ford to see if it does anything.

Please report back any findings. Lots of owners watching for which direction to turn. Thank you in advance.

My local Ford dealer, Courtesy Ford, isn't taking "diagnostic appointments" until April, which is ludicrous. But I was able to leave it with them, so they can "work it in." Hopefully will have an update for you guys in the next 7 days.

I’ve had the courtesy wipe turned off since before I left the dealership on the day of delivery.

I will update Wednesday after the visit at the dealership. They are confident they will get an answer for me.

It will be raining this evening so I'll test it. I don't believe it will fix it, however trying different things out costs me nothing lol.

Maybe I missed it, but are people suggesting turning off the courtesy wipe?

Wow! So, I'm not crazy... well, not for this. I thought I had messed with the stalk somehow and it was my fault. It does just shut down after a while on the lowest setting at least.

I'll have to read the other pages I guess and decide if I am going to do anything about it.

One person on here said it helped......didn't do anything on mine.

Also for everyone's info, I just picked mine back up from the dealership. They flashed the programing after replicating the problem (slows after 40-50 seconds on any setting above the first two). I was also provided a service bulletin (see below). I drove home in the rain and had the wipers on high for 3 minutes and it never slowed. I'm not sure if the flash did anything or if it will revert back, but I'll keep everyone on here updated.

SSM 50692 2021-2022 Bronco- Various Windshield Wiper Performance- Smart Wiper Motor Operation

2021-2022 Bronco vehicles are equipped with a smart windshield wiper motor, which has the capability of sensing load of the wiper blades coming across the windshield glass. As a result of this operational characteristic/design, the operation may not be what is expected in certain conditions. The vehicle is programmed with protection features to prevent damage to the wiper motor in case of overheating, operation with dry windshields, or obstructions to the wiper blade (snow, ice, etc.). In such conditions, the wiper motor will temporarily reduce its speed and/or reduce area of cleaning until the condition is no longer present.

How did you convince them to flash the computer? What change did they say it would make? That bulletin doesn't even acknowledge that there is an issue.

I just posted a thread about this and then found it with a search... I just had mine freak out. Slowed down over 2 or so minutes on every setting and slowed to an absolute crawl. Medium rain, so you had to keep it at pretty good speeds. I legitimately worried for the end of the trip. How does this kind of stuff happen?

I'm calling my dealer now. I've had this truck for less than two weeks.

If it matters for anyone keeping track, I have a Base 4 door V6 hardtop with Sasquatch and no other features.

I've had to use the wipers many times since I purchased MY23 Bronco about a month ago, and it has had this issue EVERY time. Its a pain in the ass and will cause an accident for someone at some point if its not fixed.

I have a great relationship with the whole sales team and service department at my local dealership is the honest answer. I've bought cars for years from them and I help manage a 70 vehicle ford fleet at work that uses the dealership as well.

As far as the program flash, they weren't sure it would do anything. Its basically Ford isn't sure how to fix the problem yet.

Please let us know if it comes back. On our Bronco, it will do the slow-down thing (even in heavy rain!) about 95% of the time. About 5% of the time the wipers will work properly and keep running - even on very light rain (just like every other car we have ever owned).

So... For those who think they got it fixed, PLEASE try it multiple times and report back. What exactly was done (what was flashed, what module, what version) and how many times did it prove itself out afterward. Hopefully we can gather up all of our findings.

Just make sure you understand the return policy on electrical parts, some places can be picky about returning electrical stuff.
