Interesting banter going on here. Not having a B6G in my driveway I dont have the luxury of hands on. What are some actual real word measurements on all of these vehicles? Are we talking a difference of 3" or 8"? Seriously asking. Lots of opinions but light on details.

Honestly then, the terrain wasn't hard enough or the jeeps were not trying hard enough (or their drivers totally suck compared to you).

I've heard that line before. "Did everything blah blah's much bigger built rig did". What they meant was squeaked through the trail with ultra conservative driving (at watching paint dry type speed), the easiest possible lines, bypassed optional obstacles, stacked rocks, strapped only "once" or "twice".

Ran every obstacle on the poker run, plenty of others skipped them.

My new Bronco has a locker! It's now game on!

Here is 5” lift with 35”. May not be for everyone, but it’s the only way to pick up clearance underneath. Have a set of 37 for long trips and snow.

Wow that is low, that is stock EB territory according to google engineering. My Land Rover is at 16" to the t-case e-brake rolling 33" treads. Being the same wheelbase the Bronco will be a significant step back without mods.

If the comparison you used actually included the two terms "offroad ability" and "mallcrawlability", then I can understand the blow-back you experienced. Had you compared "extreme off-road capability" with "on-road driveability and comfort", then it would have been a more logical comparison.

Since I have followed many of your posts, I doubt that's how you phrased the issues back in the early days. That doesn't seem to fit your interactive style, at least from what I have seen. However, I'm certain that others have, because I've seen it numerous times.

The basic underlying problem with a lot of these prototypical debates on most off-road forums is that, in an online forum where many members can enjoy some semblance of anonymity, they often tend to use disparaging terms when referring to people &/or builds on the other side of their personal preference (e.g., "chick builds", "death wobble", "Heeps", "POS Broncos", "POS Jeeps", "mallcrawlers") rather than simply have an honest, respectful discussion without slipping in the loaded pejoratives that drag online discussions down into the gutter.

I'm a person of limited education...sometimes I just say things plainly because I don't have the word skills to do it any other way. Doin my best, and thanx for the tip!

Hey, people who buy Broncos to imagine rock crawling, while they drive through the Walmart parking lot, don't want their imaginary rock crawling tarnished by this thread.

Look, my OBX came with a Mall Rated badge... I can vividly imagine that it is tougher than the Rubicon trail.

We all know this but some of us may be more stubborn and unwilling to fully admit it.

I went out again last weekend and tried to hammer a square peg in a round hole again and it just isn't working. It's not the IFS that's the problem, is the ground clearance. Everybody else on that trail with similar size tires had no issues because they had far more belly height.

Any mods done to overcome this shortcoming will take away what makes the Bronco so good at everything else. I'm done trying, I'm leaving it stockish from here out and going to build a toy for the rocks.

The speed in which you travel is conveniently captured in the name; crawling….. You see, real wheelers know that unless you’re racing, fast only breaks shit and there ain’t no sponsors to pick up the bill.

Running trails is a low and slow process, sort of like how we smoke BBQ down here in the South, or even out West on actual trails that aren’t in the desert.

Only rookies or guys in trailer rigs run trials fast. I can easily tell the experience level of the guys who eat up all the peer pressure and pride, then I have to drag their asses off an obstacle (since these same guys don’t bring any recovery gear neither!)

So, yeah, find the easy lines, bypass the obstacles where you think you’ll bend a fender or bash off a mirror, and stack rocks to be sure, YES.
