The brush guard - is it worth it?

So I know this is a *really* minor thing - but when I reorder shortly I want everything to be properly added. Currently pretty happy with my order - BadSquatch 2.7 MIC LUX Tow Leather...only thing I don't currently have on there that I want is the Modular bumper. I really tried to like the capable bumper...and I just can't get there.

So when I reorder and add the Mod bumper - is the brush guard worth the $300? Is it merely there for looks or does it have *any* utility (and also does it block the front camera?).

For reference - I live in Colorado and will be overlanding/offroading in the mountains so don't know if that factors in to whether the brush guard is just one more piece of flair or if there's actual utility to it.

The ford single hoop is really light duty. I handled one at the bronco bash it can’t weight 2-3 lbs and was pretty thin walled tubing. For the money imo you can buy a better quality guard. For only brush it may hold up anything heavier it’s gonna bend. It also doesn’t cover the headlights only the center of the grill where you least need protection if you were actually going off road.

The mod bumper on the other hand seems well built I’m glad to have it.

Also a hoop bar is a very easy addon later if you skip on it now. There are many aftermarket manufacturers, sizes, and shapes beyond the Ford one.

imo jcr or tcbronco make the best aftermarket. both provide more coverage, i have jcr and like it. bolt on is a one person job and 30 minutes.

I wouldn't think it'd be heavy duty. I like the looks of it.

Just be careful when you install it. I torqued to specs and stripped one of the rivets in the bumper.

For the city, I purchased a short one from Mabet to help protect the intercooler and radiator. For off-road, I would get the JCR prerunner and skip the Ford one.

I had to run some calves back in the pasture at night while driving through a bunch of weeds and whatnot. I really wished I had one.

The JCR is exactly what o have bookmarked. This is going to be my daily driver - but going to get a lot of use in the mountains

Easy enough to fix with a rivnut, but I'm letting it sit with 3 bolts and one glued in for now. 7 bolts are more than enough.

I bought it for looks, mainly because it’s OEM, too. I learned from my Jeeps not to buy aftermarket anything.
