For $30-$100 I’d give it a try. I had mine on the other night and could not feel any difference at all. The Bronco wheel just doesn’t have enough heat. Other Fords and other companies have been fine.
According to a few threads there is a FORSCAN line that changes the temperature of the wheel.

I don’t need mine hot. Just need it not-freezing.

If it’s under $600 I’d give it a try but I saw $1100+ quoted in another thread.

I'm sure it is. We'd need somebody like @flip to get part numbers.

I wouldn't mind having a heated wheel but not enough to pay for Lux.
And in the cases of the lower trim levels, you have to step up to an OBX, BL, or WT just to be able to get the LUX package in the first place.

So here is my take:

Unless you really want to 'do it right' you probably don't need the extra hard button on the dash. Most of these heated steering wheel swaps revolve around just adding a soft button in SYNC. There is a company out there that makes wiring harnesses for adding a heated wheel for the F150 and I imagine the Bronco would be very similar. See below for the link:

https://www.boostedgreygoosedesigns.net/2015-2020fordf150/heated-steering-wheel-harness

Part numbers needed besides the harness (for the F150 swap):

  1. Clockspring: HL3Z-14A664-B
  2. Heat control module: DG9Z-14B561-A
  3. Retainer pins: CU5Z-14A163-A (qty 3)
  4. Your choice of heated steering wheel (many different part numbers. Refer to Ford)
I think this could be done for under $600 if you could find a junkyard or used steering wheel. Brand new wheels are going to be very very expensive for a while I think.

Bringing this thread back alive, heated steering is the only thing I regret not getting LUX

seeing if anyone has dug into adding the heated steering to a high package.

I’ve done some research on the parts page and see that the steering wheel, clock spring and heater controls will need swapped at the least.
I can’t figure out if there is any type of wiring that needs changed or added, I don’t have access to schematics or anything from Ford.

I’m also not familiar with FORSCAN to activate them

Reviving...... any updates on this? I too would really like to add the heated steering wheel feature if at all possible.

Bump! Really interested in this. I just bought an used 2023 leather covered steering wheel with the heated element and all the lane centering and adaptive cruise buttons for my base (I know I need more hardware for the ACC).

Have a '23 Badlands High, interested in swapping wheels for heat. Do I need the clockspring GN1Z-14A664-E, or is the heated circuit contained on the High package clockspring?

Prelim searches seems to show that I have the clockspring I need already, but trusting auto website parts compatibility is essentially roulette these days.

Pm me your VIN and I can tell you what clockspring you have just to be sure.

Has anyone purchased this steering wheel?
M2DZ-3600-CB
Im not trying to add heat, Im just trying to find a replacement for my base steering wheel with a leather one. Wondering if this one would work and if its just plug and play.
