Oh please, it's actually not that complicated. If a random moron like myself can use FORSCAN without bricking a vehicle, just about anyone can.

FORSCAN is pretty straight forward for all the basic things most people are likely to do (I am not talking about fully reflashing modules). Make an AsBuilt backup and it will likely all be fine. You actually have to work at it to brick a module if you are being somewhat careful.
Honestly I may ask a lot of questions doing something new. I think it’s in my nature! I’m actually pretty damn technically inclined honestly! I’ve watched plenty of vids from saving as built to pretty much everything in between. I’m looking at some chime tweaks and the basics! Like you I’m not trying to change anything else! Thanks

I did some things. Very easy as you said and no problems. Hardest part was getting the damn OBD bt plug to connect and work on the new pc LOL. After that all clear sailing. I saved all the as built modules I was working in prior. Did some of the basics. Double honk, seatbelt chime, door chime, Bambi lights and global windows

I’m thinking even this boomer that started in assembly, worked through all the *bol’s,*tran’s, *basic’s, p systems, C’s, sql’s, java’s languages could do this.
(un)fortunately, I can even do subnet masking hex calcs in my head.
maybe I’ll give this a go…

I used to program in assembly back when I was working at the B-2 DT&E squadron, along with a bunch of other languages. We thankfully were exempt from having to use Ada because we were still highly classified at the time. I got to use whatever language that I felt like (and we had compilers for) and, as a network admin and ISP, I even had my own BGP network ID and IP space for a while. I am nearly a boomer. Started programming on a PET 2001 when you could still blow up the CRT with one instruction.

TLDR - Yes, you can certainly do it. COBOL is a tool of the devil.

A lot of mainframes out there with older languages.

But all us old coders made bank off it. šŸ˜‚
