Sorry, but it won't. It's running the "special" low end, low price "S" version of Windows. Read the Forscan requirements.

I've got a buddy that recycles laptops. I know he has something $100 or under that would work, with full Windows 10 Home. He sells on Ebay.

ill go back and look at bestbuy again. I don;t mind spending a couple hundy on one that works though if that can be had from best buy.. Also anyone using any of the iphone or ipad versions? I have both of those as well. I got the OBDlinkMX+ in today.

You can’t run it from an iPad or phone. I suggest you do quite a bit of research prior to bricking your vehicle. All this info is readily available on both the developer website and youtube. If you have to ask you aren’t ready

Didn't realize asking questions in the forscan area was frowned upon. I was just assuming this would be a good place to ask others.

If all you're using it for is Forscan, just get something Windows 10 (home or pro) with a USB port and wireless networking. Scan Ebay. My source gets home this afternoon from overseas; he may have something (they paused their Ebay busines while on vacation).

it's not, but on the surface it appears as if you are at a higher risk to brick your truck.

You might find a local group and see about having someone with Forscan help you out.

I'll prob just go buy this one if it will work... Also I grabbed the BT OBDLinkMX+ recommended on the forscan site... I'm not going to try anything at all I just want to have all the stuff on hand...

The MX+ does work well.

there is an iPad app but you can’t make any changes with it / it’s for seeing data only

I appreciate it... I have read a bunch and watched a lot of videos about saving all the modules before hand your working in... I didn't read about the PC specs needed though I can say that and that's why I asked... Also why I printed out the stock as built as another backup... I played with OBD tuners YEARS ago but these new vehicles are totally different animals...
