Saddle up! Just realize no matter what you’re doing you’re only a single accidental digit away from a very expensive tow and reflash for which ford will not feel sorry for you financially. Just looking out with a word of caution

you have any tutorials you recommend watching on youtube? i've watched the lonely overlander,
precision retrofits, ricardo's workshop to name a few. If you have any i'd like to give them a watch as well..

precision retrofits, ricardo's workshop to name a few. If you have any i'd like to give them a watch as well..

You can’t watch too many.. if you watch 20 you’ll find trends and throw out the doofus extremes. Been a number of years since I had to learn it so can’t remember exactly who I watched but there’s also plenty more out there now (for better or worse).
Best thing you can do is find somebody local to you that you trust and is very familiar with it.

Ultimately you want to be so familiar/comfortable with it that you’re not just hoping “not to mess something up” but “knowing you can’t fail”

Hopefully you’ve stumbled across the working spreadsheet and thread on here too

i'm going to keep watching and learning I think and give it a go when i'm ready. Dealer is 10 min away. My buddy owns a flATBED, mY BUDDY IS THE SERVICE MANAGER AT THE DEALERSHIP AND i BOUGHT IT FROM A BUDDY WHOS A SALEMAN THERE lol.. Sorry about caps. weird LOL... I have the procal coming when lethal gets the next batch so if I'm not ready by then i'll ask my buddy about it when I call and set up the procal...

This isn't specific to any videos you've seen, but in the 5 weeks since I started down this path--and especially the 3 weeks since I bought it--I've watched many, many videos. And I've come to understand that some people just don't know what they're doing (specifically I'm thinking about one couple demonstrating--badly--the installation of the IAG soft top struts). But how would you know that unless either you fought your way through their instructions and thought about it, or you've watched other videos that show the real way to do it.

My mantra: be careful about videos. Trust, but verify.

I would say you MUST watch 20 of the same ones so that you CAN throw out the outliers. No question.

I think Procal is way more bulletproof. But if you know the service manager, work with him to have them install it to protect any factory warranty...

the one I listed above seems Very good and similar to one I saw others raving about from a Canadian guy!!

no i'm def going to have them install that for the warranty.. I only have 1400 mile son our Raptor lol....

Yep unfortunately the internet/Youtube not only doesn’t discriminate but gives equal opportunity to experts and morons alike! Haha Sounds like we operate the same way.

it's not, but on the surface it appears as if you are at a higher risk to brick your truck.

You might find a local group and see about having someone with Forscan help you out.
Oh please, it's actually not that complicated. If a random moron like myself can use FORSCAN without bricking a vehicle, just about anyone can.

FORSCAN is pretty straight forward for all the basic things most people are likely to do (I am not talking about fully reflashing modules). Make an AsBuilt backup and it will likely all be fine. You actually have to work at it to brick a module if you are being somewhat careful.
