Good luck - I was considering inside the tire too except I have my plate mounted on my spare (had this saved it said it was universal/jeep, not sure if it would work for you https://a.co/d/8PUGK5X ) before I found the crossroads
That's the one. The issue is that the round mount that fits over the camera stalk is not the same circumference as the Bronco camera mount. So it needs to be drilled out to be widened to fit the Bronco. I plan to try to do this today.

If you mount it “upside down” can you flip the display? Just curious and thinking about ordering and mounting to underside of my AAL spare tire platform

@RigOMortis : Wow, this is some good info. I never thought I could mount my camera upside down in the rear. I have been having issues with where and how to get the rear camera mounted. I wanted to go inside as I did in the Badlands, but the C Brace was an issue. If I can mount upside down, I have a way I can replicate my Badlands setup.....Hmmm

Welp I have run out of excuses now. First it was the mirror strap-on but I found you can replace it at the stalk so it looks OEM. Then it was the upside review mount idea. But here I see it’s quick and easy.

Sure there’s a bunch of wires, but that’s do-able.

I have no false resistance left. Ordered.

Throw wire loom on the bundled wires going into the unit. That would clean it up some.

I have it where it works for my placement inside the wheel. Also have another one being fabricated (at some point) for someone else who wanted to mount it lower on the same Sasquatch wheel.

To be honest, any type of filament I used (from the ones listed above), always had give to them. I didn't like the way the mount still flexed. Eventually had the guy at my shop cut out of 1/8" aluminum plate and it's been working good. I just need to paint it with plasti-dip or something to protect it.

Printing PETG-CF is easy, probably won't hold up to the elements. ASA & ABS require an enclosure (and I also use glue on the build plate). ASA will hold up to UV better than ABS. But as mentioned above, just not solid enough for me (1/8" thick bracket).

Currently working on a hood for the camera to protect from road spray. Just created a new design as the last one didn't really help all that much. Those I'm printing. Testing with PLA, will go with ASA once I find something that works.
Just got a 900 Pro from the fam for xmas - would love to get a mount for the rear camera. Let's talk in mid Jan.

That's an interesting mount, but unfortunately the 3rd brake light shakes quite a bit. Every little bump and the camera is all over the place. It drove me nuts, which is why I mounted it inside my wheel.
I have the same problem. I shoved a dog toy between the bracket and the tire with the intention of going back with a permanent solution...that was 2 years ago. 🤦‍♂️

At one point I had a foam block in there which helped a little. Eventually just put it inside the spare.

I did the same on installing on a 2 door last week. We ran his camera to the tailgate area, so it just made sense to do go that way as well. I'll probably do the same once I can find a decent mount for the tailgate that isnt overpriced.

I thought about 3D printing one like you originally did, but after you said there was still some give with them I moved on.
How's the aluminum working? Is it the same design as your print?

Aluminum has been working great so far. It's only 1/8" so if you hit a good bump it'll wobble a tiny bit, but otherwise I can't complain. I really do need to plastidip it or something though because it's mill finish, and with all the salt they put on the roads here in NJ, I can see it corroding at some point.

Brake light was too much vibration for me, so I used some thin metal to make a simple mount attached to the beauty ring bolts. I like this for the wide angle helping with blind spot vs tucking it between wheel spokes.
