I only use SAE J1127 SXL, TXL or GXL. (SXL is my preferred but TXL and GXL are smaller diameter/thinner insulation if needed).

Completely agree. The insulations that evofxdwg listed are all rated for -40°C to 125°C (-40°F to 257°F) and meet all automotive standards. Stay away from the wire sold in auto parts stores. It's usually only good to 80C (176F) and does not meet industry standards.
