so i'll throw this at ya... my 2022 does this and I hate it. I held down my unlock button today while scanning what frequency it sends with a TPMS tool (whole other issue i'm sorting out trying to activate TPMS) and all of a sudden my drivers side windows roll down 1/2 inch when unlocking the door. my passenger side doesn't do it.

i don't know why it pisses me off so much but i don't want the window dropping 1/2 inch every time i hit the unlock button. especially twice to open the trunk, and the dang windows are down 1/2 inch. i can't figure out how to shut it off after i some how triggered it by holding the button down today.

ANNOYING!

So glad my 22 BL does not do this. It would drive me crazy.

My windows don’t drop until I pull on the handle. Not from any fob key press unless I hold down the open button long enough to drop all the windows.

the problem I have had happen twice so far, and may be somewhat related, is that my windows STOP dropping when opening the door. And then when closing the door, the window is wedged open, and I have to manually drop the window and raise it again to properly seal the window.

Sorry everyone I thought I had posted an update with a fix for my original issue months ago.

It is correct for the windows to drop once being unlocked. My issue was that they were not going back up unless I rolled them back up with the switches. No matter how long I waited they didn't go back up.

After disconnecting the battery didn't solve the issue I took it to Ford. Was an issue with a module and a quick flash resolved the issue. They have been working correctly now for months.

thank you for that, first piece of information I’ve seen. Even had the dealership look and they couldn’t come up with anything from Ford as to why this is happening.

having had Broncos before this I can tell you this is not an improvement. My windows do not go back up on their own.
Ours go "back up" when we get in and start it would've thought yours would as well. Would ask the dealer about that. I hear you on "improvements" and that's just a small pointless one. ;-)

Has anyone had success in having this feature added to the 21-22 years with software? I have a 2025 loaner and would personally want this as the windows do catch on the seal when opening causing the window to vibrate more than I would want. Yes they go down but not quick enough when I open it.

So your short drop works when you grab the handle but not when you unlock with the fob?

My 25 does it either way and with proximity sensor at driver door, but like you it’s not as fast as I want with the handle grab. I’ve gotten in the habit of unlocking with the fob as I approach when I’m in in a hurry. Otherwise I have to consciously wait for the drop before I open the door.

On 21’s there was no functionality of the window dropping other than physically opening the door itself. So the glass always catches some on the weatherstripping.

So once I saw how my loaner was functioning I searched and found this thread. Seemed like people were saying there could be a software update that might bring this to the early years. Was checking to see if anyone had successfully made that work.

Is there an update for 23's 2 doors to do this when unlocking the vehicle?
