I’m about ready to put red missle launch covers on the rear window switches. I’m a slow learner.

I roll down my backs instead of my fronts nearly every time.
I understand from a paper design perspective that the current set up makes sense. If you tilted the window controls, they would align with the window placements.

Here is the deal. They don’t make sense from a UX perspective. If my arm is on the armrest or I’m using the armrest as a guide while I look forward, the driver’s window control should be at finger length. Instead it’s the rear window control at finger’s length. A huge miss on Fords part.

put peanut butter on the rear switches, at least then you get a reward for being wrong..

I've put a decent amount of ass time in the seat of the Bronco and I have to say, I am still lowering the rear window most of the time before I realize I have my finger on the wrong button, and have to raise up the rear window and then lower the driver window - and yes I go through Dunkin Drive Through way too much.
And yes 2 door crowd, I know what you are going to say. 😒😁

So I'm wondering, has anyone flipped the switches to put the front windows on top and the back windows on the bottom?

And am I the only one who's brain refuses to get on bord with the switch positioning? o_O
Yes, I have considered putting silicone dots on two of the switches to prevent me from using the back when I am wanting to roll the front up or down!

I wish Ford had provided a tactile difference between the front and rear window switches for the driver. Like maybe use the switches with the rounded-ridged ends for the front, and the smooth for the rear. I understand why they didn't - cost and assembly complexity - but it would have been helpful.

When I operate them, I have to feel both sets by "braille" and then use the desired controls. If I just rest my forearm on the console and hit the switches, I get the rear ones every time so that isn't helpul.
Even Braille would work. Learn the difference and braille at the same time.

It’s a new learning process I guess, but I’m with you. I think they’re backwards. I always thought that the most important movement should be closest to your hand. Say a light switch in a dark bedroom, it has 1,2,3, even 4 switch box. I went though my home and lined them all up to importance. I reach my hand in a dark room I want the main light on the first switch that my hand comes to, second light the next light (accent light), fan light is next and fan speed last. I know, I know, it’s stupid. Those are in order of how often I use the functions in that box. Looking down on the window switch it’s correct but if my hand is coming down on the switch it’s backwards. First two should be driver and passenger and the next least used, should be below that. Lol
It’s just my dumb ADHA I guess. lol. 🤪
Here’s my solution…small piece of foam ‘backer rod’ under the rear switches. Stays in well. Can still open them if I want to.

I shouldn't admit this, but I still would get them wrong on the BMW X5 the Bronco replaced.

Those switches were on the driver armrest, but because of my seat position (pretty far back) and the switch location (pretty far forward on the armrest), I often would accidently lower the back glass.

Maybe it's because my other two fun cars are two doors which made things easier (You're welcome two door Bronco owners). :)

I have a 2 door so obviously I only have 2 switches. I do however have a Maverick as a daily and the switches are on the arm rest. I'm constantly reaching for the wrong spot in both vehicles.

Just like everything new, I got used to it. I blindly row past everything until I hit bottom, and I'm there at the front set, and boom, perfect. Of course now when I drive my wife's Explorer, I'm lost lol
