That's what I wanted to say, and you beat me to it.

I love truth (not the "social" kind!)! Mine goes to town once or twice a week. Hasn't seen mud yet (it will when the season changes), and once it even got caught in the summer storm! It gets washed once a week, and nobody ever sat in the back seat. I carefully remove the bugs off of it every time we come home. In between the washes, I carefully dust it off with "California duster" (thank God for them!). It never had its doors off (it never will), and the soft top was never opened (it's good to know that this can be done, but I don't need to "show off"). Mine is NOT a "Mallcrawler" though. There are no malls within three hours from me (no Starbucks either!). Mine is a bonafide garage queen (that's what the wife calls it). I don't give a damn.

Nope. Put a "screen saver" on the screen (no fingerprints showing), it gets 91 ethanol free to drink (the highest-octane rating in my area), and the Castrol Platinum Edge (full synthetic) oil. Haven't topped off the blinker fluid yet (it doesn't go down, so no need). I check fluids diligently.

I also agree, it is definitely a two-way street.

A lot of it is also "different strokes for different folks" and it's impossible to make everyone happy. The amount of people who have showed up on this forum looking for features like BlueCruise or power seat memory. Heck the amount of people who have bought the Lux package specifically because it has adaptive cruise control or a heated steering wheel is much higher than I would have ever anticipated.

People want the things, but the things are expensive and people complain. So you take away the things and people complain that it doesn't have the things. And of course you can't just make everything à la carte cause then production costs go up.

No idea what it's like being on a team for a vehicle manufacturer that has to make these choices, but I imagine there are lots of spirited internal arguments over it. Probably a no-win situation.


Feel that one.

The good news is price of protein has gotten to the point where I'm starting to do veggie-only dinners. So ya know, unexpected health benefits.

The bad news is when I do buy meat, I typically buy chicken because it's the most affordable. And I've run out of different ways I can prepare chicken that I'm not sick and tired of.

See,....the time in every man's life comes around, when being comfortable takes precedence to looking cool. The time when one wears pajamas and hush puppies around the house, suits and ties only for funerals (there will be many!), and when even some positions that were "adventurous" or "fun" (like swings, chandeliers, appliances, or the back seats in the cars etc.) are too tiresome. When you realize that YOU are the most comfortable on your back and let the others do the acrobatics. Comfort. That's what's all about.

I actually find our 2 door more comfortable than our 4 door. The bigger door is easier to get in/out and the B-pillar being further back gives more shoulder room. It's also better driving elbow out.

Come on, you all know that is not just cars anymore, is everything, just went out to dinner for two, it was a basic dinner nothing fancy at a Vietnamese restaurant, basic food, veggies, shrimp and rice I spent over 60 bucks. That's Ludacris. Let's not even talk about sports or concerts, how can people afford them anymore. (I LOVE SPORTS) decided to watch them on TV as the prices no longer benefit my pocket.
I know we should be talking cars, but my point is if you feel that's beyond your means, then go used i'm sure you'll find a great deal and be happy.
I wish I should have kept my 66 Tang fastback.

Charge more for less under guise of artificial scarcity, produce 20-70% less Qty of product that costs you 5-20% less and see profits blow out just look at the qtrly reports excl EV debacles. Buy shares in these companies if they pay divs and have low debt.

Oil cost are doing same with some ETFs paying close to 20% annual on monthly basis with some leverage.

This is gangsta capitalism when foreign competition is blocked or crippled by decapitation threats haha....we all have a choice to pay 30-100% more for crap or simply go to MX or else where for great times and good value.

I just stop spending money locally unless it's great value.....like my brand new '23 OBX2.7 lux.

In 2021 those of us who reserved and eventually ordered were faced with paying the sticker on the Bronco. Some who fell in the “ gotta have the latest before anyone else” pad over sticker for cancelled orders that were delivered. Today, one seeking a Bronco can shop around and find a dealer willing to sell way below sticker for off the lot, or provide a discount for an order. I paid one dollar below sticker so I could keep my streak of never paying sticker intact. Lol. I paid the going rate for my BL and a friend of mine e waited several years to order his Bronco. He was allowed to haggle however he still paid multiple thousands more and went without a Bronco for three years. Like most higher end vehicles I liked go when I peruse used car sites and find vehicles with hardly any miles on them and realize folks just impulse buy and then eat the loss when reality forces them to get out of the obligation.

GM, in order to prevent flipping, would block the warranty if a car was sold within 6 months of initial delivery. This was fully optioned Z06 with the Z07 performance package for sale on Bring a Trailer. The vehicle sticker showed an MSRP of just over $160K. No idea if the original owner paid a markup over MSRP, but odd are they did given the market conditions at the time. It was being flipped before the 6 months expired so they were straightforward that there was a warranty block on the car.

It ended up selling for over $60K OVER what the original MSRP was!! So, some person paid over $220K for a car with NO WARRANTY just to be one of the first to have a Z06. To add to that, the Z06 was the first GM car with a flat plane crank. Ferrari has been building engines for decades with a flat plane crank, not the US OEMs. Just look at the early issues Ford had with the GT350. That is crazy that someone would lay out that kind of money for an unproven product with no warranty.

To add insult to injury, GM is now struggling to move Z06s at $7K under MSRP, and this person paid $60K OVER MSRP for a car with no warranty.

I have never and will never pay MSRP for a car, much less over MSRP. I've seen it too many times. Just wait it out.

When I purchased my leftover WildTrak last January I paid $4k under MSRP. A couplke months later I had some regret that if I had waited a couple more months, I could have gotten an even better deal, but I pulled the trigger when I did because I REALLY wanted Cactus Grey and given that that color was being discontinued, I would've missed out.

I ordered a 2006 Mustang GT convertible. Worked out a deal at the dealership and waited the five weeks for it to show up. The same time I had a work colleague who knew I ordered my Mustang and on a drive home he saw a GT convertible on a lot. He impulsed bought the car and paid what the dealer wanted. A year later he sold the car to CarMax and had to write CarMax a check to get out from under the loan. People amaze me.
