The black is the BL with orange accents. The BD is a lighter Gray combo seen in the interiors video with light blue stitching.
This is why I need to find a BD in CO to swap out interiors with my BL in VB. Heck, I will even do all the work and BD guy can just stand there and drink beer

Vinyl all the way... throw some 303 on it now and then and it will last forever. Most “leather” is just a veneer of leather over vinyl or fabric anyway. We have vinyl in our Atlas and you can’t tell the difference from when it was new (granted it is only 3 years old)

I was considering the BD or BL, but I am greatly concerned, like VERY concerned, about the durability of the seats. I have owned several boats, and the seats just do not hold up well at all, and that is with very light seasonal use. They crack and tear at the seams, and edging is easily scuffed up. Also, most boat seating is a very light shade, because vinyl in the sun is hot as hell.
I work in a dental practice, and all of our chairs have commercial grade vinyl, and with the use the chairs get, they hold up, sort of. It does not take a lot to puncture one. Someone who sits in a dental chair with a pen in their back pocket can quite easily puncture the material.
Even commercial grade vinyl is not as durable as leather.
Is anyone else terrified of shelling out big $ only to have the vinyl seats fail, and also be HOT AS HELL???
I posted in another thread that "Marine Grade" vinyl does not mean quality vinyl. There is good and bad quality Marine Grade vinyl. Marine Grade simply means it is mildew and UV resistant.
If your boat seats were tearing after "very light seasonal use", I'd suspect you had crap vinyl or you left it open to the weather all year.
I also have had boats most of my life and never had an issue with the seats. My current boat is a 2004 and and have had it since 2006. It still has the factory interior and still looks great. No scuffing. No tearing. No fading.
Leather will crack, scuff and fade too if it's not taken care of.
I personally hate the leather they put in cars now. I have leather in my Ranger and my wife has leather in her Mercedes and neither one looks or feels like leather should. Only super, super high end cars get good quality leather.

I'm right there with you. I have spent alot of time in boats and the material does crack overtime. I'm not an expert on materials and perhaps that is related to their constant exposure to the elements but I also had this fear. On the flip side they look great, those that have seen and sat in them say they feel amazing, and I appreciate the mold and mildew resistance. I think I am going to take a chance if the trim level I select has the option.
Idk what you two have been doing with your boats but mine has lasted 11 plus years and the original seats are still pristine, the best way I have found is to use a vinyl conditioner/UV protectant it makes a huge difference

Shows heated under BD?

Weird. I wonder if this is another change between model years? The MY21 Black Diamonds and Badlands with vinyl weren't able to have heated seats.

I love the seats, the vinyl doesn't feel like any seat material I've touched in cars before, soft and silky. Will it hold up? Who knows, don't care, there'll be a fix if needed in years from now.

Will they get hot? Black seats in the sun? Heck yes, like black leather will get hot. And sweaty. If it's an issue, I'll get some seat covers for summer, in a light color.

So far I love the seats and am impressed with them, super comfortable. Wish we'd have had the option for the white/grey from the reveal video, but oh well, everybody seems to love black interior (I don't - at all, but it is what it is) so that's what manufacturers put in there.
Black, the designer's crutch, LOL.

But the material feels strong, I guess we'll see. I'm not letting my dog on them, but I'd not let him on any kind of seat, that's why I switched to this kind of vehicle and away from trucks. No more dog hair on the seats for me :-D

I have a 21 black diamond and as long as you got mid pakage you got heated seats so I got heated seats on my black diamond

I stand corrected. I could have sworn I saw that you couldn't have heated vinyl seats in MY21. Couldn't be happier that I was wrong!

Yes and No. The leather in my older convertible Mustang, for example, driven only in the summer, is guaranteed to crack in 5 years. It's in the owner's manual - somewhere towards the back. I had a Lincoln I traded in on this Bronco... 10 years going on, zero issues. So nice. These seats feel good. Maybe too good. My concern truthfully is sliding in and out of them. I dunno. I went the marine grade route and yes I've thought about it.... Durable seat covers? I dunno if I'd trust Ford "leather" in a Bronco. Just sayin'.

Sun and water would be the issue I think. Keeping the seats clean, dry and maybe a sun shade?
