Inconsequential? It's probably the second most expensive item in the vehicle, only after the engine.
It’s a vehicle.. a mostly frivolous one at that. You guys are missing the point! But I’ll step back off this thread and let you have your moments. Just keep life in perspective

No one is blindly supporting anything.. just don’t think it’s something I’d lay away at night worrying about. Especially since you’re in the complete luxury world of owning a raptor as a second vehicle.. no pity there for sure. We just see life differently and that’s ok.
Not looking for your pity- to be honest, your input had been fairly useless at this point- It may be best for you to step away as you suggest.

Like many others here, I have invested in a vehicle and expect sound design and manufacturing. As a business leader, I understand ‘shit happens’- it’s how you react and fix those problems that matters- Ford has done nothing. Since we are on a Bronco forum and many have had this issue- this is a great place to come for some understanding, insight and hopefully answers. I expect more when I’m spending my hard earned money.

You say we are the loud minority- I suggest it is a bigger problem than we understand. Its not life and death for me, but my concerns with poor quality or design are no less deserving of attention than anyone else here.

I feel the frustration. I am still pissed at Ford for all of its mistakes, big and small, with the Bronco roll out. However, after reading all the problems with the MIC tops, I am looking forward to replacing my soft top with a TurnOffroad hard top that comes with a lifetime warranty. Cheers.

I am! Currently out on medical leave receiving cancer treatment for a bit. The last 8 years I’ve been on the a320
Good luck on your treatment. Hopefully your prognosis is good. Cancer can be such a nasty disease. I’ve watched it closeup over the last two years with a sister-in-law and dear friend. Compared to cancer, most things including a hardtop or an engine are indeed inconsequential.

Best wishes. Contented

Has anyone thought about spraying bedliner the MIC TOP as a way to protect it from cracking?
I'm thinking this might be the fix for one that cracks after warranty

I agree………but no 2 door options out there yet. Really like the Armidillo but the price……….
How about money off on a new Modular?

That's actually what I'm hoping for down the road. After one year my MIC top has a few small cracks. I plan to wait another year and see how it holds up. Would be great if by then the MIC exterior/lamination has been improved, or there is option to add some cash and get a MOD top in it's place.

Had the same thing happen on my Wildtrack at 4500mi! Ford replaced it, the dealer treated my Bronco like a 1983 Toyota Tercel and now it squeaks when I am driving....
That's funny you mention the squeak. I had my top replaced and noticed a squeak. Sounds like Styrofoam cups rubbing together.

Had pictures of my cracked top and disconnected defroster tab taken at the dealership this morning. Just need to wait to hear back from for regarding warranty stuff and then go from there.

Just got the call that my rear top has been approved for replacement. Went to the dealership and walked through what they needed to order:

Rear hardtop with sound deadening headliner, front a rear weatherstripping etc.

They are also replacing my back glass entirely because the defroster clip fell off. They’ll be using a glass shop to transfer the side glass to the new top

hoping all the parts come in some time next week

I have an appointment Monday so that the tech can verify it is a warranty issue and take pictures.

I do pity you, but not for the reasons you think now. I’ll rest easy knowing you thought my input was fairly useless and not totally useless though! Likewise..

Best of luck with your top though!

My Bronco has been in the shop for 2.5 months dealing with my first hardtop replacement fiasco.

I wouldn't call that inconsequential. And I will be calling Ford corporate when it is finally fixed. I know exactly what I want and what I'll get, whatever it takes.

Mark my words, this problem is much bigger than a "loud" minority. Frankly, it's fucking offensive to belittle peoples' concerns about a hardtop that costs $5,000. Having cancer doesn't make you special. And it's belied by the fact that people have had to get their replacement top replaced repeatedly.

Just a quick update……..last week dealership told me I needed to make an appointment so it could be documented and written up by a tech. Brought it in expecting to leave it, the service advisor said he just needed to go take some pictures, and that’s it, told me he would call me. Later this afternoon he called and said my new top would be here in 1-2 weeks. So far so good!

Had my hardtop replaced in February with 7300 miles. Only put 1800 miles on since then and the 2nd top is being replaced.
