Yeah totally different!

That is great info there and kind of what I figured but great to see explained. Mostly going for looks and just overall better/slightly beefier tire than the factory Dueler's. Just being in IL means not to many places to get off road besides Off Road parks, so the type of off roading I do is easy trails and dunes/dirt so sounds like the basic SL ridge grappler would work for me but the peace of mind of the C range might be the better option. Honestly I will probably get "off road" in my bronco maybe 2 or 3 times a year. The factory Dueler's performed fine for what I do, just want that beefier look/slightly better performance
I think one of the hardest parts of owning a Bronco is being honest with how you’ll use it. I live in Minneapolis so also pretty limited off road options outside of forest roads. Last summer I went off road several times and my stock SL Duelers did everything I needed them to. If I’m being honest I upgraded the tires more for looks than anything else (don’t tell my wife that). Every time I look at it now I smile bigger cause they look amazing.

I heavily considered getting SL Falken Wildpeaks but at the end of the day piece of mind and the possibility I might do heavier off roading some day had me get Load Range Cs. I think for your described use case an SL tire would work fine. However, if you have the extra cash and want some piece of mind it wouldn’t hurt to get the LRCs. Good luck in your decision! I’m loving my upgraded tires!!!

Yeah I would love to get off road more, but there's only two off road parks near me and one only lets full size on when it's rented out so that's maybe once a year an then the other is a bit of a drive for a one day excursion. Also I know my skill level, its still total novice hahaha.

Thanks again for the info!

This is a good thread for us newbies and I have a similar question.

I’ve got Black Diamond Sasquatch currently on order and debating dropping it for the $2500 and to be built sooner.

So then I would want to add aftermarket wheels/tires. How large can we go before it begins to mess up the suspension system? It sounds like adding 285/70/17 is not a problem and the speedo can be remapped accordingly.

But if we wanted 34” or 35” we need to alter the lift height and it sounds like the preferred way to do this is via suspension.

I’m trying to quote out the whole package with wheels, tires, lift, alignment and labor. I probably need to go into an aftermarket shop and ask but want to be armed with some basic knowledge first.

I do plan on off roading. The off roadeo was great and want to off road with the family and join one of these meetups/groups we see on here all the time.

To do everything I want, Sasquatch is a no brainer which is why I added it the last ordering go around but it also seems like it may not be in the cards so trying to learn up what options are out there.

No experience with those but if you haven’t checked out Tire Rack it could be a good place to check out. They have great reviews from their team and customers. Also a nice compare feature. I spent hours on Tire Rack and learned a lot from their site. Kinda feel bad I didn’t end up buying from them.

Did you have to modify your third brake light? My tires are getting installed as I type this and the tire guy said my tire won’t fit with the third brake light.
Just a note. Even my 265's were too wide for the bump stops below the carrier. Choices were to trim the stops or install a spacer. I installed a 3/8" spacer from Autozone, all good. With 285's you might need two, they come in a pack of two.

Do you mind sharing a link to those? I should probably pick some up.

Thanks @dgorsett for the advice one spacer made a big difference on it fitting better with the additional width and those spacers. One did the trick for me and two wouldn’t have left me enough thread for the lug nut.

Here is a picture of my KO2 285/70/17 on my just washed Bronco. I feel like pictures does t do it justice cause in person it looks way different.
