Hi All - I’m looking to install on board air compression in my 23 Wildtrack. Seems like everything i review leads back to one of the ARB systems. Does anyone have thoughts or other suggestions? I’m not opposed to using ARB as they are a trusted manufacturer however wanted to hear from the vast amount of experience out there.

Also I was thinking of mounting the system on the inside of the tailgate instead of the engine compartment for easier access. Has anyone done that?

looking forward to any suggestions or ideas.
Thanks!

I likewise use the ARB twin with its 100% duty cycle. Works great for airing up to or three vehicles w/o stopping. No complaints.

I’ve done multiple ARB set ups in my jeeps and they’ve worked very well but FWIW in my Bronco I toss in my miluakee M18 inflator. It’s easy, only 166.00 (plus batteries) and I can use it anywhere without needing to wire anything to the car. Many options out there good luck

x3 for the AAL tailgate compressor, with the wiring harness it is plug-and-play, and it works great. I wired the switch to AUX4 so I don't have to worry about the switch getting bumped by cargo.

I went with the ARB just because it seems to be the standard.
I chose the Desert Does it mounting plate for a 4-door and mounted it to the Broddict mole panel on the passenger side.
The Apex reel is mounted to a DV8 wake board speaker bar. (It was designed for four doors but fits a two-door also)
I'm working on installing it now.
I'll take a unusually long time to install it because I have a disclaimer "things break in my hands" and "you may not get it back in one piece"

Thanks 22vette. I’m looking strongly at the AAL setup as I like how clean it is.

We put ours under the toolbox in the back and also hooked it up to two 2.8 gallon tanks. If running to the back, keep in mind the gauge of the wire. There’s a vendor here selling an extension kit that actually drops to 10g from 8g. DO NOT buy that. The ARB is rated for 100% duty cycle and if you’re really working it hard, using the factory fuses but on smaller wires, you’re at risk of melting the wiring. I’m sure that vendor will be dismissive and say it’s fine, but he’s trying to sell a product.

We ran 4G to the back and into a distribution block. Now we have more than enough available power to run additional accessories and this allowed about two feet of wire to be cut from the factory wires. So far after airing up all four tires and one jeep the max temp we’ve seen was 170F.
