What does the window sticker say? That should be what you bought.

Look at the dial that controls the transfer case, do you have "4A" in addition to 4H and 4L?
Badlands has it with or without Sasquatch.

You're getting educated--hopefully, not to your financial disadvantage. See if there's somebody in the Kansas area near you who is knowledgeable about Broncos to explain the finer points. Consider using the Ford website and do two comparative builds, the Bronco you bought and the Bronco Sasquatch you think you were buying, and compare features and prices. Print them out, and examine them side-by-side
Then go in and talk to the sales manager, and see if he'll rectify the problem. Did you want a Sasquatch? Did you pay for that? Will he swap out the one you took delivery for a real Sasquatch? Pay careful attention to what models you're considering. Don't let him offer you a Big Bend Sasquatch when you're turning in a Badlands. There's also trim levels (standard, mid, high, lux, all irrespective of "Sasquatch") seats, electronics, driver assist, etc.). Yes, it's confusing--lots of variables to factor in.
Maybe somebody who knows all this can go in with you to the sales manager. It's good you're honest about your error. Admit that up front, and point that the salesman was either ignorant or misleading, and you want this straightened out.
There's also Ford INC. and Better Business Bureau.

Did you really mean to say that ? You absolutely can tell from the VIN
I did mean to say it. The 2022 Ford VIN Guide does not mention Sasquatch.

Tell me which digits in the VIN decode for Sasquatch.

Here's my understanding. Positions 5-7 are the only numbers which could identify a Sasquatch. But as you can see, for 2022 they don't. I doubt Ford has changed anything since then.

Here's more recent information from Highland Ford for 12/19/2024. There doesn't seem to be much change.

I had originally ordered a Black Diamond with the Advanced 4x4 without Sasquatch. After the order had been accepted, I was able to change a few months later to a Badlands without Sasquatch because the E5D part of the VIN didn't change. That part of the VIN is the same for a Wildtrack which comes standard with Sasquatch.

You can just go to, or call any Ford dealership and they can see every option the vehicle was built with.

I'm just curious about this situation and would appreciate any expert advice. I only recently discovered I don't have a Sasquatch package on a 2023 Bronco Badlands I bought new from a large dealership. It was implied that it was a Sasquatch model. I really knew nothing about what that actually mean't, other than supposedly an upgrade. I was under the impression I had a Badlands Squatch until a relative purchased a new Bronco Badlands Squatch. He commented on my smaller wheels and rims. This started me looking into it.

Without judgement please weigh in.

I used chatgpt to look into how to tell the difference. Yeah I'm clueless. After checking axle gears and tire size, it bacame obvious it isn't a Squatch. So why did I think it was? 2 reasons.

1. Salesman implied it. - Yeah I know, it was a car salesman, so why did you believe him.

2. See picture attached. This is what I really would like some thoughts on, specifically if they comitted fraud, or at least deceptive business practices?

Why would the sticker on the drivers side say "Sasquatch" and the passenger side not? Based upon my research this sticker should not be on it?

Finally...I'm not interested in buying any swampland, just educated on this. 😬

Nothing deceptive at all. You have a non-SAS Badlands. It has all the features of a SAS Badlands, including the Bilstein yellow shocks, with smaller tires and a half-inch or so less lift. I have those same tires on my OBX, because many owners upgraded the non-sasquatch Badlands by installing Sasquatch tires. You just need to do more comparative research.

Wrong sticker put on at the factory, minor mishap.. Ultimately it's the purchaser's job to research and understand what they are buying.
