Done them, planning to, 2.3/2.7, doesn’t matter

lets discuss it, whether its pads and rotors or big brake kits.

what did you go with, notice a difference, worth the money, dont bother, doesnt matter, lets just discuss it!

The Bronco brakes do suck but The only “real” kit I have seen is “Alcon”...seem a little expensive...the problem is the 17” wheels not allowing much bigger rotors so performance is limited.

I had called and talked to Goodridge brake lines about a year ago and they were super excited about potentially doing a set of stainless steel lines for a bronco, but needed someone local to borrow their truck for a day or two to get some good fitment on them.

If I had my druthers, that's what it would be. You can get nearly as much performance as a several thousand dollar BBK, by just upgrading the lines, pads, and moving to a higher temp fluid, which will usually run you about $500-700, depending on the car.

I'd call Goodridge and see if they're still up for doing a set, and reach out to Hawk and see if they've got any offerings.

I know Alcon makes a 6 piston caliper for the Raptor and I'm wondering if they have them for the Bronco.

Just FYI, in Jeeps virtually every time a brake line fails on the trail it's a stainless braided line. They always fail at the connection to the banjo bolt. Suspension flex and snagging on stuff is the cause in most cases, and just fatigue from so much bending while off roading. On Jeeps we stick to rubber lines for reliability. Now, on the front IFS of the Bronco it should be easy to avoid that problem since it will all move together if secured properly.

You're kidding, right? A mechanic friend of mine, who hates Ford's! drove mine and conceded that the one thing they do well is brakes. Can't agree more.

Interesting, TIL, i guess :)

I've just always preferred the pedal feel that comes with SS lines vs rubber. Plus, having blown a (rubber) brake line on a track car, I would always lean towards SS lines when it matters.

I have only used Powerstop after OEM brakes have run their course. Great sets and just a good bump in performance.
Did the powerstop on my f150 with 35s and they are a huge improvement over OEM. Highly recommend for the price point.

Im not fond of the engagement, hoping upgrading them makes it bite quicker

So had a series of nightmares, from trippin’ balls to scary, the latter being slipping and sliding on the road and coming inches from impact

Ill do my hw to see what the best overall 33’s/35’s are, but what component gets rid of the soft brake engagement, since while Ill do pads/rotors/fluids and when available, lines, just curious which one specifically will be the sport mode or pedal commander for the brakes

Which engine do you have? Pretty sure that kit only works with the 2.3 vacuum assisted brakes, not the 2.7’s power brakes. I don’t think there is a single direct upgrade brake kit for the 2.7, which kind of shocks me considering how many people are putting bigger wheels and tires on their Bronco, increasing performance, and adding tons of weight.
