Crazy thing is it wasn't even a marketing attempt by Jeep, it was an organic phenomenon started by a girl in Canada in the middle of COVID. Sadly she passed away recently. Weird for anyone to feel it is "shoved down their throats". They are just little colorful little piece of rubber that folks are using to try to make others happy. Lining up every one someone has received across their dashboard is kind of geeky, but it is wild to me that some seem to be offended by it all.I view the whole duck thing as some attempt to feel some sense of 'community' with other jeep owners. It's brilliant marketing for whoever came up with that nonsense. People who ordinarily wouldn't buy a jeep will do so because of that sense of community. They're spending a lot of money to get someone to wave at them or to leave a rubber duck on their car. It's the affirmation that they are included and not rejected. It makes them feel cool and special to be part of something 'bigger' than they are, and I don't think that they really understand that not everyone is looking for that quirky sense of community and in fact, finds attempts at it being shoved down their throats to be highly annoying.
