I have the b&o system and have been fighting the sub rattle try all the shortcuts. Read thru a sea of threads here and tried a bunch. Finally the wrapping the sub box and filling it with poly insulation worked 100%!!! Before i could maybe get to vol 10, bass 30% max before rattle. Now - can do vol max, bass max ( not that i’d have at that - but tried just to hear. ). Finally can jam!!

Looks great, this is what I want to do as well! Was it tough taking out the panels to gain access to the sub?

Not too bad - whole project took like 2-2.5 hrs at most.

- removed floor, then side (mainly pull)

Good luck, it’s worth it!

Nice, but you did all that work and didn't replace the sub with something better?

No I didn’t. - i just replaced all but the sub. was holding off. to gain funds if needed. From what i’ve read there really isn’t just a sub swap. It would need to be sub, amp and then messing with forscan? If so i will be waiting. If need be remove in future not too bad. The main thing for now was to get rid of that Rattle.

Totally understand, I was just playing with you. I need to get to it also, I have a replacement sub (8" Kicker), the KIcker key amp and some kilmat. I don't think you have to do anything with Forscan. 🍻

My ultimate will be the JL stealth box and the MO DSP amp. Just need the money to do it :ROFLMAO:

How much kilmat did this require?

Just the smaller box of kilmat and you didn't need to wrap anything else?

I know a person working o .5 sealed that fits in the factory spot that will fit a shallow mount 10. If it all pans out, I'll be running that in place of my current jl w1 8 inch.

The 10 I'm going to use is from digital designs. 600 watts and sounds stupid, and .5 will work for sealed with it. All of that for less than the stealth and my best guess will be a better sound, sound quality, and save you a few hundred bucks.

nice work!

question: outside of being rid of the rattle (huge win) can you tell a difference in the bass response/crispness of the woofer? was curious if it improved the sub sonically as well as being done with the rattle battle.

All I can say is it does sound better - Deeper and better response although not a whole lot. For me it is great right now - may swap later.
