I called the sales guy out on it, and he gave me the usual, ... due to being driven while loading into and out of the trains and delivery trucks....

I know there is some driving to test components, and I just decided to not push it and move on.
Yeah, but 300 miles?!?! That seems unusually excessive.

I've never heard of a brand new vehicle being delivered with 300 miles even if it was held for QA purposes. My 2012 Mustang had 125 km on it at delivery and I called out the dealer on it. Since it was the first 2012 delivered for them one of the salesman thought he would take it for a day. They gave me $500 service credit but still it ticked me off as you just know that he was likely abusing it. Once I used up the credit I stopped doing business with that dealer and have purchased my Fords from a different dealership.

300 miles is excessive for a special order that should really go from the plant to the dealer to the customer, UNLESS a random emissions testing is pulled - in which case they ran the CRAP out of it because something wasn't quite right.

For a vehicle that has sat on the lot for a year (like my last Ram), 300 miles isn't terribly excessive...between test drives, getting moved around the lot, dealer owners/managers taking them home for the weekend, etc. I'm honestly surprised it didn't have MORE miles on it. Somehow, my 2017 Power Wagon only had 3 miles on it when I first test drove it, and it supposedly sat on the lot for 6 months.

why is car buying such shit, someone should fix this.

At least tesla has the decency to shut the odometer off, or to tamper with it, prior to delivery!!!
I won't buy another Tesla but I can't lie, it was by far the best vehicle buying experience. Just order online and pick up without any dealer interaction. They contact you when the car is near delivery to finalize a few details then schedule a day to pick it up where you look at the car and if happy sign the paperwork and drive home.

There is a transport mode, but it doesn't limit the speed at all.
It basically just reduces battery drain during longer periods where the vehicle is not used. Some other small things are changed also.

I'd never buy a Tesla. Elon lost a fight with some other fat old guy at the white house and didn't even have the decency not to admit it. Instead blamed the shiner on his son. What a scumbag!!!

Mine has been in production for 2 months now with no explanation as to why. It’s a waiting game.
