Imo, the braptor is trying very hard to be something the Bronco was never really supposed to be. The bronco is a trail machine and the braptor doesn’t do anything better on a trail and will likely be worse due to size than a regular bronco.

Just my opinion I guess. For 91k I’d much rather have my 50k Badlands and toys.

Get a 30K Bronco to relive the Scout days and a 60K F 250 for a work truck...A Raptor ain't nothing like a Scout:cool:

The only way it is a mistake is if you can't afford it, if you aren't paying a large ADM that is. You can flip it and make $10k off it.

That said, inflation is raging (on purpose) and we will never be able to buy such a vehicle for this little again in history. When I was a kid you could get a very nice HD truck for $3k, not its little more.

To the Scout thing, I've noticed if you take off the fenders from a bronco they really do look like a Scout II.

Can't tow, drives like a bus, can't park in a lot of places... unless you're going to be racing through the desert, it's nothing more than a status car. Wildtrak or Badlands is better suited for 99% of people. At the Raptor level, you're buying a less capable vehicle and buying more into an image.
Well golly sir I'll take you're word for it fer sure. I mean it sounds like you know what you're talking about. Hot dog I was almost a 1% status symbol....haha, c'mon really?

I’m honestly starting to wonder if all this Raptor hype is worth it. My ordered Raptor comes out a little over 91K out the door. I’m having seconds thoughts on if it’s wise to drop that much on a vehicle that can’t tow 12k. It’s just going to be a toy. Don’t know what to do. The longer it takes for delivery the more I think I’m making a bad financial decision.
I‘m in the exact same boat, except I was lucky enough to got a Wildtrak first due to the fact I was a day 1 reservation holder. I love my WT and was going to keep it for a 3rd car for the family and then drive the Raptor for a bit and if I didn’t love it I would sell it due to its size and me living in the city. My Raptor was supposed to be built the week after Thanksgiving and keeps getting pushed. With TTL I will be in it for over $91k and the last sale on BaT was $87,000. Values seem to be dropping like a rock. I’m losing interest by the day due to the reasons above and wonder if the juice is worth the squeeze.

Just enjoy yourself. Life’s short. How often do you plan on towing 12000 lbs?
Every single place he goes. 11,500 just doesn’t get it done

Being one of those guys that wasted my money on a Raptor just for the image, have you drove one? far as being too wide i wheeled full built JKU for 6 years that was 87 inches wide, sure was hard to park -------not-------- trails manged to run Sand Hollow, Moab and etc

so for some the hsp, added flex etc worth it plus i payed less than hemi Jeep. I will miss my atlas transfer case but i have a streched TJ on 42 with Ls so i get by.

I did have fun helping recover the standard bronco's that broke all over the trails at Easter Safari in Moab last year with those no flex, tire waving & weak ass tie rods that slap 37s on it with body lift

Fenders will get changed or tore off lol so If you only ride gravel roads or mall anything will work. See ya on the trails i be in Sand Hollow and Moab in April and May so bring yours and we have fun.

Gotta love the Raptor haters, biggest differance with jeep crowd most love the hemi and built rigs and do not whine about status etc like this site, if that hurts your feelings I am too old to care i been wheeling jeeps from before i could legally drive even had a scout but chopped it up for a swamp buggy swear could hear that thing rust at night but so did my willys jeep

🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿

so back to OP question, if you want pull 12,000 lbs never going to happen with any short 4 wheel drive suv, buy a Superduty as far as the cost only you can answer that as each one of us have different pain levels so drive them both and you see the difference it not just shocks and ugly fenders i promise ya

Do you have a need to tow something that’s 12k lbs or are you just thinking out loud?

If yes, then why even order something that’s 7k short in the towing department in the 1st place?

Can say same thing about Wildtrak or Badlands. 99% of people owning/driving them will not off-road (Rocks, trails, desert) and an AWD Subaru would be fine for them. Also the Raptor was never meant for towing nor are any other Bronco models.

And yes, I ordered Code “pumpkin” Orange. To me there was no other choice.
That’s the color I would get. I love the Raptor, but I wanted a two-door. Life is short, if you can afford it, purchase the vehicle, and have fun. Poser or not who cares. If you like it, that’s all that matters. Plenty of people purchase Corvette Z06’s that never see the track.

If you have a Raptor order at MSRP, and it is not a financial burden for you to take it, then you should take it and enjoy it.

If I was offered a Raptor order at MSRP, I absolutely would've taken it. Then been upset when it didn't fit in my garage.

You recovered stock Bronco trims at Easter Safari in Moab last year with your Raptor? The Bronco Raptor wasn't even built yet.

You seem rather defensive as to what you and your Raptor are capable of - even challenging others to show up in Moab this spring. Why wait? Bring your Raptor to Ol' Florida New Years event next weekend. Certainly, you aren't intimidated by the local trails in Florida. There will be plenty of 6G Broncos that would love to see your Raptor in action. Plus, you can add to your resume of recovering more stock Broncos. Of course, I'm sure you are humble enough when Micah has to recover you from Blue Rhino.
