Software update error message on PCM-23.11.02 - Not Completed
This makes it seem like their plan is that they have no plan. What they're saying is to reflash the tune back after the PCM is updated to revert it to the previous version. So, whatever HVAC improvements are supposed to come with this update (and future updates), you will never get.
I think the right question to ask is if they ever plan on updating their tune instead of forcing customers to revert to outdated versions just to keep their tune.

I wouldn't think the Procal flash would change other modules. I can ask if/when I talk to a tech again. I'll probably call again today, don't like being in this unknown state.
It won't touch other modules in terms of the software itself. You can do things like change tires sizes or what not so it can make config changes in other modules like FORScan does. The HVAC improvments I am referring to are in the PCM OTA that is being sent out. That is what the release notes say, anyway.
yeah that is where there is a problem... The Procal touches these modules so I never understood how this would ever work corretly if they dont update the Procal revisions. It makes sense to go back to factory which is fine, but then reapply with an older revision depending on what ranges they are changing "COULD" be a bad state.

Kind of curious.....does the Bronco by chance use the HVAC system to cool the Infotainment system that seems to overheat, black out, then irritate the NHTSA?
Not that I know of. Ducati is more hands-on than I am with the vehicles, so he may know something I don't, but I doubt it.
Just like the other guy, it has failed many times with the same manifest mismatch. The same OTA was sent to you again 3 hours ago and will most likley fail again then time it tries to install. it's only one file in the F188 location which is the strategy file.
If it does, there’s no information anywhere that Ford has release saying it does.
I highly doubt it does.

OK. Curious because I got letter notification yesterday that my Infotainment screen blackout recall has been fixed via an OTA update in May. The app says it was an issue with the APIM, but wondered if this HVAC update could be related since it was a heat soak problem with APIM. Experience has shown me that two seemingly completely unrelated things sometimes are not.

If they were going to use the HVAC module somehow to help with the APIM overheating, it likely would’ve been included in the same recall (26S09)
Not to mention, there’s really no plausible way to make the HVAC help prevent the screen from overheating.

Yes and yes. I didn't disable auto updates until this May. Just verified my timeline, looks like I had the tune installed Sept 2023. I've only taken my Bronco to the dealer (on a flatbed) when my fuel pump died July 2024. The dealer mentioned something about issues doing updates, I had told them before the Procal tune was installed and the device was in the glovebox, no details were given, a couple days late they gave the Bronco back. It wasn't until this May I tried to flash back to stock, mainly to verify it still worked so I didn't have to run premium on the OR BDR. I hadn't updated the ProCal until the Ford Perf tech had me do it during troubleshooting.
The other things that I've changed, replaced the steering rack with a BroncBuster Hoss3 rack (early 2024) and replaced the B&O rear amp with a Zen-A2B (early 2023). I've always wondered if those could throw off updates.
Ok, so that supports my theory that updating the PCM will render the Procal useless. The ZEN upgrade means any DSP updates will fail since your truck no longer has the Ford DSP in it, but that's nothing to worry about.
I am not familiar with how the rack upgrades work. Not sure if that will affect any PSCM updates or not. If the PSCM has the same part number as the OEM rack has, then it is also a non-issue from my understanding of how these things work.
