Hello All,

Just purchased a 2023 take off 4 door soft top with all the hardware. My question has to do with aligning the brackets behind the panels as if seems there is a lot of adjustment play and once the top is on it needs to be removed to adjust further. Any tips as far as starting location and/or making the process easier? Thanks.

If you buy the bracket as a standalone part (M2DZ-7829452-A), it comes with a plastic alignment template that makes installation a breeze. I'm not sure if you can buy the template by itself. I think I still have it up in my attic, so I can check to see if it has a part number, but I can't get up there tonight.

Otherwise, there are some good tips in this thread by robrod802 that at least give you a good start on getting it aligned.

I ended up ordering a new set of brackets today just to get the alignment tools.

I'm looking to get the alignment tool, but the Ford sites I went to says M2DZ-7829452-A
is replaced by M2DZ-7829452-B.
Do you know if that has the tool also?

Thanks

Part M2DZ-7829452-B comes with the alignment tool, that's the one I ordered. I just realized I listed part M2DZ-7829452-A in my first comment, I must have pulled that from an old spreadsheet I had. I'm not sure if -A comes with the template, but -B did when I ordered it.

Anyone doing a top swap. Get the alignment tool. Makes the process rear brackets install easy peasy. Installed rear brackets with tool, roll bar brackets all the way rear, and tailgate brackets all the way up, everything works perfectly. No need for any further adjustment.

How was lifting the actual soft top into place before bolting it up? Seems light enough but my helper is 5’0”. Might need set up something to stand on.

How did you deal with spare? Did you just unmount the tire?

It’s heavy and cumbersome. Worse than the hardtop. I’m 6’2” and I went over the spare with the tailgate open. My helper was 5’8”. Sets right down on the alignement pins.

As an fyi the lower left and right rails along with tailgate rail all meet at a corner pieces. Loosening the bolts allow adjustment of the extruded rails closer or further from the corner to help get lower corners of D pillars and side windows right. But mess with that last if at all.

Sorry to resurrect this old thread, but when I look up this part number, I can’t tell if it comes with one bracket or two. I saw another thread where they ordered two sets, but each set had two in them.

They come in pairs. One part number gives you both brackets and the alignment tools.
