Almost impossible to drive at night with out another car to follow when snow covered the headlights. Have tried wax and other options Ford needs to be held accountable for this safety problem

Is an off road vehical. Should ford be liable if you get mud on your light and don't clean it off?

You are responsible for maintaining the equipment they offer.

Having said that, if there was an Available solution I'd be interested because led lights don't generate heat enough to melt the snow. But in all fairness, it's not ford's problem.

One thought I'd to get hotter fog lights and use them when headlights get covered. That way you don't have to get out of the car

I ran into this problem the other night, fortunately arrived home at dusk. I’ll have to turn on my pods next time to see if they make enough heat to melt the snow.

I think the Raptor fogs would have been even worse as they are low power and imbedded in the bumper. Never know though, as I removed the end cap assembly on mine.

Secondary blizzard issue is the accumulation of ice on the rear flares resulted in my rear doors being frozen shut. I think the texturing of the replaceable “accessory ready” panel on the flare promotes ice buildup.

The LED Lights do not generate heat as said above. Not sure what can be done

Has anyone found a replacement bulb that generates enough heat to not allow the ice to build up?

I have had to do this before. I was driving home in freezing rain at night, and my headlights froze over. I have the Diode Dynamics SS3 Fog Lights, and they got warm enough to melt the ice off the front. It was a bit weird to adjust to driving with only yellow beams, but it worked well enough to safely get me home!

Wonder if ceramic coating the headlights would help. Just a thought.

There are no bulbs in LEDs. They are not serviceable and cannot be replaced.

Really wish the industry would figure out how to clean headlights. Remember when European cars had little wipers on the headlights? I think one issue we have is with the lights being flat - many vehicles with aerodynamic lights probably have the snow pass over the light. Wranglers have it worse than we do with their inset headlights.

2 ideas I have are:
1. For our circular lights, a circular wiper that rests horizontally between the high and low beams, and spins when activated.
2. Maybe run a line of coolant to the lights and around the edge of the lights to warm them up when needed?

i'm in MN and have noticed this slightly. I ceramic coated mine so the snow comes off easy. I wonder if the aftermarket can make a heated lense cover. One that snaps on and then can be activated, like rear defrost

That's be a really good solution. I'm not sure I'd want to use an Aux switch for it, but I'm sure there is a way to tie it in somehow. There are so many smart people on this forum, this would get solved in minutes. It just needs to be developed.
