How did you get the plastic area surrounding the window control panel off?
Just need a thin pocket screw driver or something similar to release the clips while pulling the switch out.

Still couldn’t get it off with any hand tool. Finally just said f*ck it and used my Dremel tool to cut into each locking tab to loosen it. That finally did the trick. Talk about a pain in my Quokka’s ass though. Why does Ford have to make everything so difficult?

My 22 has them crumbling away at almost 38,500 miles. I don't see a point in paying to replace it with a unit that will do the same thing, so I'll just leave it.

Thanks for teh post! I have the exact same issue. My problem is I Installed Dana Performance Forged Carbon trim on the panel so I either have to replace the CF or go without...:headbang:

Mine (driver side) went at about 18k miles. Got it replaced under bumber-to-bumper at 20k miles or so.

No hassle and the dealership even washed my Bronco for me.

Mine straight up broke. I felt something hit me - which was the rubber trim - looked down and it was cracked. Upon closer inspection the driver rear has a hairline crack too. Glad it’s $25 and 5 minutes. I expected much worse. I used some Gorilla Glue thinking I would be in $100+ and a console removal and have other priorities at the moment.

Ugh! I placed an order last night with Levitown Ford and it got canceled this morning because thet $25 part is no longer available from Ford and it's now $75 ($114.55 MSRP)...hoping I can find an older model before stock runs out...

I wonder if they made improvements since they were constantly breaking....

You guys are getting off cheap. When my rubber broke back in '95, it cost me (so far) hundreds of thousands. She's now 30 and still needs money.
