Roof Panel Storage Bag for 2 Door

Hey everyone,

Long time lurker, first time poster so hopefully this is the correct forum to ask this in.

I bought a used 2022 Bronco 2 Door Base MT back in November and it did not come with the OEM bag for the front two roof panels. I bought one on eBay, which I thought was correct, but after following along multiple tutorials on how to arrange the panels in the bag I can’t zip the bag shut. I know that this is something that others have wrote about in the past, but I think I must have the wrong bag despite there being an illustration of the 2 door on it. I’ve read on how it is a tight fit, but my bag is not even close.

What's the proper part number for ordering a new one. I believe it is M2DZ-10C744-H, but wanted to ask in case anyone can confirm. I wasn’t sure if the panel size changed between models years or if there was anything else I wasn’t aware of.

The dealer I bought it from told me M2DB-X46077-AC, but I don’t think that is correct. I think this may be what I already have.

I’d like the OEM bag, but if anyone has recommendations for third party bags that do the trick I wouldn’t be opposed.

You actually might have the correct bag. Zipping the back shut is a complete pain the ass on the panel bag. I rarely even zip mine shut all the way. I would suggest that one you get both panels in the bag, you hold the bags by the handles and shake it up and down so the panels slide all they way down. Almost like you're putting a pillow case on a pillow.....good luck.

I just put my panels in my bag (4dr) and yeah, I'd have to fight it to get it to zip.

Haha, yep this was I tried doing. The bag would probably rip if I somehow got it over the panels, so I guess I could also do what you’re saying and not zip it.

EDIT: This is my OEM 2-door storage bag. Still in the wrap. I keep just taking off the driver side panel and putting it behind the seats.

I don't have the Ford part # handy to provide a reference, but I optioned the panel storage bags as part of my '23 2-door BL order. I watched this video several times to try and build a little "virtual muscle memory" before trying it myself (I'm sure it would be a lot easier with a 2nd set of hands). It's tight and initially kind of awkward but after that first time it's kind of routine. Mine zip up and close just fine - it's snug but working fine for me.

I'll share my DOH! moment, though - I'm driving around the City thinking "Damn, that just blocks out the whole rear view!" the whole time. Later that night I'm sitting on the couch and it suddenly hits me . . . fold down the back seats, dum dum! Much better!

Your panels should be lined up at the edges when in the bag. It's not easy. There's a lot of putting your arm down the center of the upper panel to get it over the lower panel fasteners. It's easier if you lie the bag down so the bottom panel is in the bag lying on it's top.

Since it looks like you have one all the way in the bag , comes down to how you are arranging them. Not a bag problem.

I didn't have time to take a photo of it, but I have tried just one panel on its own. The curved corner of the bag is matched up with the curve of the top, but the bag doesn't seem long enough to reach the top corner of the panel. You can sort of see this in the photo on the panel that is lower in the bag. This is true also when picking up the bag by the handles and doing what Blackcat said above. Can feel the panels both touching the bottom of the bag.

I should also add that I took it to a dealer last week and even they had no idea what was wrong... They mentioned the part number I listed in my first post which is why I wanted to ask here since I thought the bag I got was correct.

Not giving up though. I'm planning to try it again this weekend. I appreciate everyone's help.

Also, try laying the bag flat when putting in the first panel, get it all the way in (make sure latches are closed), fold over the 'protective' fabric then slide in the second panel. Then shake like a pillow.

So I just measured my top panel and it is 3 inches longer than a 4dr panel.
The m2db x46077 ac part is correct for 2 door. I won't be able to check the actual bags for sizes until later in the week.

Cool thanks for checking. Maybe I have a bag for the 4 door. It does have a little illustration of the 2 door on the label, but maybe that’s on all the bags?

Out of curiosity, does anyone know what m2dz10c744h is? Wondering if it’s just an updated name for the same bag.
