I signed up for the Off-Roadeo in TN for first week of November a while back.
Then we had the hurricane in Western NC which took out the interstate into TN as well as many other roads.
Due to road outages and doing relief work I had to cancel my attendance for the event. I had paid for an additional person and insurance when I booked it.
Even though this was an emergency situation and I gave the notice in plenty of time where Ford would lose no money, they still would not refund me.
This has given me a very sour taste for how Ford is handling these events. I thought about rebooking next year, but if Ford is going to be this greedy - screw them. I will do trails on my own.
At the very least they could credit me for rebooking at another time.
Thanks Ford for your thoughts about hurricane victims!
Off-Roadeo - No refund - you are dead to me!

Similar situation, but not really.

My wife bought an Explorer ST last year. With that, you get the "ST Experience" at the Biltmore Estate in NC. It's a two day event with food and lodging provided. Pretty sweet deal!

Well, when we went to book it over the summer (about 8 months after purchase) their reservations were all full through the one-year anniversary of our purchase. So we got completely shafted. Left a really sour taste in my mouth. Ford has a lot to do in the 'customer experience' department.

You need to do right by @FastDriver . He is out there helping your employees and customers get back to there life. Some one at Off-Rodeo lost perspective on customer service. Time to step in.

Don't make us regret how you, Ford, treat a true good guy.

I'll preface this with I have not gone through the OffRoadeo reservation process myself yet so I don't know anything about the cancellation/refund policies, but are you saying you cancelled in accordance with those policies in a timeframe and manner where you would have received a refund and Ford/OffRoadeo refused to refund you?

Somehow get this posted on Bronco Nation. I think the off-roadeo is a great thing Ford has done for the promotion of Bronco. However, I can't imagine that something like this would be a net positive if word gets out. The event is overpriced if it's not included with purchase and to not accommodate what appears to be a valid reason needs to be addressed. It would be simple and go a long way to offer a re-booking in this case.

Just so you know, @Ford isn't actually Ford.
You're just tagging some random person that has 2 posts and not been on here in over 2 years lol

Sorry that happened to you, bud. Hopefully they make it right. In the meantime feel free to DM me if you want to join an active offroading group, welcoming of all skill levels. We tend to have an outting at least once per month and are based in the southeast states. (admittedly skewed toward north Georgia but I've been to NC for trailing on 5 occasions and we also get people out to windrock where the offroadeo is)

What is the policy? They can't break the rules because you have a "good" excuse. You hear this all the time with the cruise industry. There are no refunds past a certain date, usually around 90 days before the cruise. It doesn't matter what kind of emergency you have. If they make an exception they have to make an excpetion for everyone. You can purchase 3rd party travel insurance, but road closures is a sketchy reason may not qualify unless you have a for any reason policy.

throw your story up on twitter with ford and other involved parties tagged. Once that gets some notice they will probably scramble to make it right. Especially emphasize the hurricane relief part.

I don't know, the policy is pretty clear on the website. You could have also postponed and it would have been cheaper overall (from a fee standpoint) and you would still be able to attend at a later date. For whatever reason, you chose to cancel. Not sure why.

You should have gotten your vehicle damage waiver payment back according to the policy when you canceled. Your post implies that you didn't, you have a case for that at least.

Sure the hurricane is something that was beyond your control, but it was also beyond the Bronco Off-roadeo's control as well. This was an act of god and their policy was pretty clear when you booked. Risks exist in life. Consider travel insurance in the future perhaps?
