I installed my Redarc TowPro Liberty brake controller today with my factory tow package. Pop the lower dash off (like you do to access the fuse box). There is a metal plate directly below the steering wheel. I mounted it on the back side of that plate. Adapter cable is for certain the TPH-007. I had a bit of a scare, the factory harness has a fake male plug attached in order to secure it to the dash. You have to unplug the fake plug and insert the TPH-007. I mounted the control knob just to the right of the parking brake. It took a wee bit of dremel work to make it fit just right.

Thanks for sharing, I'm getting ready to install the same. Did you have any issues locating the wiring harness to plug the TPH-007 into?

No, when you lower that panel below the steering wheel it is literally stuck to the side of the transmission hump right "there". Pull on it hard to remove the push pin fastener, then unplug the blank male connector from the plug. Transfer the push pin to your TPH-007, plug it in and push the pin into the transmission hump hole. Sorry I did not take a picture of that.

Not sure what the difference is between the liberty and tow pro elite modules, but i installed the elite and most time consuming piece is removing the floor center bezel for the wiring.

Thank you @Scott1911 ! Just pulled the trim off and exactly as you described. Nice that you can even reuse the little black push pin fastener that holds harness to frame. You saved me lots of time figuring this out. :)

Requesting pics of this "fake male" you speak about, there has to be a joke in there somewhere.

Anyway, on topic. That's a great unit and we've had one on our Ranger without any issues.

More pics of the process or the modifications/plugs would be beneficial for future users.
