Rear of factory hitch 2.051 inches.
Rear of Curt hitch 2.084 inches.
I installed the Kuat Pivot 2 into the Curt hitch. It tightens and is very secure.

Thanks so much, that is a huge help. Appreciate you taking those measurements, I’ll probably have to replace my hitch with a Curt one

This is one thing I would not order from China or Amazon, and dont try to fix a loose hitch with bedliner. This is playing with fire, get the Curt. Dimensions matter here more than they do for a braided grab handle or an interior light.

Most likely the tube that comes from China/Amazon is metric tubing. All tubing has loose specs, unless you specifically order differently. Tubing for manufacturing is measured by the outside measurements and with the thickness of the material itself kinda determines the inside diameter. It all matters to what the thickness of material that was used to roll it into tubing. Plumbing tubing has a different set of rules for measurements.

I’ve been using my Kuat rack nearly every week for 3 years now on the Bronco. The tightening mechanism is solid as a brick. I’d also suspect the chinese receiver dimensions.

I don't know from Kuat; I use a standard 2" ball but what I do know is Mabett is crap and not something I would risk towing with. I got the Curt extended hitch to clear the spare tire, install was solid but most importantly; there is zero play in that connection. Don't listen to some idiot and probably is never towed about putting tape or a shim or anything in there. The force is put up upon that hitch while you're driving or massive and you don't wanna be that guy having that accident just upgrades the curtain you know if this is gonna work right

Put a extended ball mount in my factory hitch so my trailer jack would clear the spare. Installed an anti-rattle from Amazon. Rattle and slop in reciever solved. Even with the extended ball mount I am still well within specs for my load.

Put a Mabett 2” hitch receiver on my bronco a few months back, finally got around to purchasing and attempting to install a kuat pivot v2 for a ski and bike rack. Tightened the internal adjuster on the kuat all the way down and it still has way too much play for me to be comfortable driving with it installed, much less with a rack attached to it. Any way to fix this, or did I end up with a lemon of a receiver? Video attached from the rear of the hitch

I have this as part of my Hitch Mounter Rack no more rattle!

I would suggest that you contact Mabett, send the hitch back and buy either the Curt or the Ford hitch. Good luck.

As a way overdue update, I replaced the mabett hitch with a Curt hitch and have had no more issues. Everything installs and stays rock solid. Would highly recommend just purchasing Curt for anyone looking.
