I want to see sideways in pitch black conditions. Not where other cars are coming. They won’t be used in traffic. But back roads and off. I don’t need any light out front.
You can do a fog kit that combines both street legal + off-road lighting OR a simple solution, an a-pillar kit

Those look nice, but I literally want to see sideways. To they turn a little more sideways.
Yeah. Thats just how i have them mounted. You can (and most people do) angle them more to the outside. My OCD needed them to point straight.

Thanks. Fogs won’t do it but look good. Pillar lights might if turned sideways enough, but might look odd turned so much. I do like the look of pillar mounted lights. But will they illuminate sideways? 90 degrees. In front of wheels pointed sideways might be best. I don’t want to see sideways ahead. I want to see directly sideways like pointing a spot light out the window.

You just have to aim them where you want light. If you want side lighting you have to aim them off to the side.

A lot of it depends on the lens / light pattern

My DD fog pattern lights up like a 150’ arc (I don’t measure it - just know it’s very wide - ~almost~ straight out perpendicular to the front of the truck) in front of them - it’s very wide. Not super focused/bright across that wide of an arc (but I’ve got another set that are very focused and project very far when I need them), but you gotta accept some tradeoffs

What do you recommend for wheel wells. I’m going to do pillars for looks but I think wheel wells will point where I want them exactly.

I did the Diode Dynamics SSC1 flood attached to the side of the SS3.
This was ~$200 with cables for aux switch hook up.
I have never thought I needed side pointing ditch lights- but you are correct when in really dark areas, you cant even see where to turn.
Front fogs do nothing for side view.

The @Diode Dynamics fogs are freakin' amazing, to the point where I don't really need ditch lights. BUT if I lived/drove regularly in heavy deer territory, it would help see the ones standing just off the road ready to dart!

How about under the mirror arm?
No sorry we don't sell or make anything like that.

If you want lighting for the front by your tires you want fog lights.
If you want lighting down range or off to the side, you want a-pillar lights aimed as such

You could easily mount a rock light under the mirror arm. It would light up the area between the front and rear tires. The question would be, how bright, and how far away from the door would you have light?

" variety of mounting solutions, including a roll bar mount, magnetic mount, flush mount, and surface mount to cover any other potential application "

@Area51BS I know exactly what you are talking about, I have heavy tint and at night on roads not light by street lights, there is literally no way to see what is left or right before making the turn, even without tint that can be tricky sometimes. The photo I posted has them pointing maybe only 30 degrees out, but verified I can turn them 90 degrees if desired (without antenna). Having the combo lens of driving and spot help create long distance and short throw which is perfect for this need.
