Still pretty new on here so bear with me I’m still learning the ropes. Has anybody experienced a very quiet whining noise while moving in reverse? The noise seems to go with the speed. I’m reversing at. This is in a 2021 Outer Banks two door with 2.7 eco-boost advanced four-wheel-drive if it makes a difference.

Probably just normal noise from the 10 speed since it has straight cut pump gears.
Thank you, I was hoping it was normal. I bought my first bronco last week so it’s all learning experience!!

What Ducati said.

Reverse Gears are often straight cut opposed to Helical Cut.

Straight cut gears are often stronger, louder, and harder to engage.

If you watch any type of racing (Drifting, Endurance, Rally, Baja), you’ll often hear a very whiny drivetrain. This is due to a straight cut gear set (dog box or sequential).
