Question about BD Bronco

Hello All!
I am putting together an order form for a FY23 Bronco. Can anyone tell me what the “advanced model” is?
It doesn’t quite price out to be a Sasquatch but I can’t figure what the difference is.

The advanced transfer case option that has 4A and is supposedly stronger

100% worth it if you live in wet/snow belt areas. Without it you have 2H, 4H, and 4L.

Just adding that the "Advanced" transfer case is the one they use on the Squatch package and all Badlands.

Allows you to select 4A (auto) which monitors for wheel spin and will engage the 4x system if it is slick.

While I'm not sure if it is "stronger" or not, it does have a lower LOW gear ratio than the standard "part time" transfer case, for slower creepy crawly situations offroad.

I would suggest you look into the benefits before you “just skip it”. 4A is very nice for actually using 4wd on the road. It is capable of allowing the front and rear axles operate independently and adjust torque when you are in changing conditions. If you drive on roads that change form dry, to wet to frozen and back, you can maintain 4wd without worry of drivetrain bind. There are other benefits well documented in several posts and articles as well, if you want to learn more. I use and have used 4A regularly when my vehicle has been equipped with one. I am in MI, so snow to wet to dry and back is normal in winter driving.

Sasquatch package comes standard with Advance 4x4. In fact the only way to get it on a Big Bend or Base is with the Sasquatch package. Advance 4x4 has nothing to do with the Sasquatch package itself. Putting it simply it's essential an automatic 4wd system that sends traction to the wheels that need it when they need it. Great for wet and slippery conditions or when the roads constantly change from dry to slick

It is better to have then have not. Get every option you can afford or desire. Throw reason to the wind. The most common used phrase in the vehicle owners world is, “ I wish I would have selected that option”. Enjoy.

As others have mentioned it gets you auto 4wd which is really nice for pavement driving when it's partially snow covered. Otherwise you are changing back and forth.

It is also a 3.06:1 reduction instead of 2.72:1 of the nor al transfer case.

I could be wrong but I believe it also gives it the ability for four wheel abs adjustment for controlling a spin.

If you aren't getting it as part of a package seems silly to buy it standalone considering what else you could buy for the price. I guess might be worth it if you live in a place with a lot of heavy snow/ice. For me regular 4hi/lo/rear locker accomplishes more than enough.

This right here. Bottom line is if you live in an area that get's snow (and I imagine on some trails), it's a good thing to have. I'm in MN, this is a no brainer. You set it and forget it, no need to keep switching in/out of 2wd/4wd, it'll remind you if you forget .

For someone who trades every few years maybe, for guys that drive them long term, not so much. Advanced 4wd is just another thing that's going to fail, it's the worst part of going Sasquatch.

Please explain how Advance 4x4 is going to be that susceptible to failure. Yes it's computer controlled. But what on modern vehicles isn't??

You really are a jackass. Lived in Canada all my life. Know how to drive in snow better than most. Of course I know how to swap back and forth. But if I don't have to do that 10000 times in a winter then that's a bonus.

Also if you took care to actually read the 4A transfer case gives your Bronco the ability to independently apply brakes at the four corners to stop a spin. So yes it does help with that too.

Exactly this. Would you like to have a seamless experience driving in bad weather? 4A is the answer. And yes, our roads turn on a dime. Personally, I'm not going to pull over to keep switching because I know how to. Also eliminates potential damage for people not understanding or in my case letting someone else less experienced drive.

Trails? Can make it fun and focus on other things. Easier to crack a beer. Last month drove a sketch service road and needed 4x. A good portion of the time I needed to keep speed for mud related issues, but really did not want to keep switching back and forth. 4A did the trick.

Saying just use 4L/H is like saying just hand wash your dishes and don't use the dishwasher you have because I know how to wash dishes. As far as electrical concern 4a has been around forever, and in numerous Ranger/F150 platforms. Have zero concerns.

I am one of those guys who keeps them forever, as in until they need to be salvaged. I don’t sweat failures. Actually, my Ford vehicles have been exceptional. ( Own, 2006,2009,2011, 2018 and a 1970 )Personally, if I did worry it would be more on all the electronic ( expensive) gizmos included in new vehicles.

I have 4A in my 21' GMC AT4 3500 and it has it's place, here in CO in the mountains if there is snow pack I'm in 4H as there is a slight delay in traction in 4A which has given a little bit of slide in the rear. If it's patchy or possibly icey then 4A for me. I know these aren't apples to apples but thought I'd give some real world examples for the OP.
