I was hoping I could get a little help. I have a big bend with 33” tires. I want to upgrade to 35’s but would like to keep my original wheels. What tire spec should I get? Or is it worth replacing the rims? Thanks in advance.

The BB +55 factory wheel offset will limit your options for 35s...by all accounts a 35x12.5 tire will rub the upper control arms if mounted on the standard +55 factory wheel. I was in the same situation with my factory BL wheels (same +55 OFFSET) and went with a 35X10.5 tire with no issues. A 285/75 will also work.

I was going to do the 285/75 with the bb wheels but long story short...I sold my BB wheels & tires. I now have the SAS tires (315/70) on my non-sas bronco with a 2" lift. My new wheels are +35 with only the crash bar behind the front tires removed. I still have the front crash bars that are right behind the bumper in place and no rubs.

I've done some heavy research into the topic and reached out to @Spider Jeff he put 315/70/17 on his BB with stock rims. No rubbing, I found another person who put 37's with a lift and wheel spacers on the stock BB rims too.

Personally I just ordered a 1.5" spacer as well as 315's for my Big Bend. Should have them installed in the next two weeks. Ill post a pic then.

Attached I put the pic of a big bend wheel sitting on 37's. Last thing to keep in mind will be your gear ratio, 3.73's (like i have) might make your Big bend feel a bit sluggish off the line. Some people say they don't notice a difference, others say its the equivalent of turbo charging a civic. I guess it comes down to preference.

Got it done today! It was cake!! Decided not to go with the wheel spacers though the poke was a bit too much for what I wanted. Crash bars removed zero rub lock to lock. Drove it 50 miles home with 0 issues.

I'm not sure what the draw is towards all these cheap, non name brand tires. If you need your tires to perform, get good ones.
I've had only bad luck with the cheapies.

I have these Toyo's on +35mm Method wheels.
No lift ...base suspension ... no rub.
Crash bars removed.

How ya doing?

Your build is very different from mine, but for us 4cyl manual guys with 4.46 gears ... on a do over I'd go smaller than 35's.
An actual 33 or the 285/70 would be the sweet spot for these gears.

The 2.7 and auto may handle 35's really well, but for my 2.3 manual, top gear became totally useless, even at Interstate speeds. It forces the motor into boost to maintain 78 mph and fuel mileage plummets.

Drop into 5th, 78mph = 2700 rpm, stays out of boost, fuel mileage goes back up to CLOSE to what it got stock.

*** just looked at the build specs for a 2.7 Badlands ... auto and 4.46 gears .... now that will be VERY interesting with 35's!!!
You have to do it and report back !!!

Are you happy with the AT3 s?
They have a bit more hum than other AT's I have ran, but they are far more aggressive than those others.
They have been fine for me otherwise, snow, rain, etc. No major offroading yet.

They do not tend to hold gravel like the Goodyears I keep reading about. Those sound really bad. I've been on miles of gravel, yeah, there's always going to be some, but I don't think it was bad at all.

First Toyos , I was nervous, but they balanced out well and roll out smooth as silk. Have about 4k on them so far.

I referenced the charts and aired down to 32 or 33 (cold) and they ride really well at that level. But if it warms up outside and they rise to 35/36-ish, they stiffen up noticeably.

LOL, tire shop mounted them at 50 psi ... thought I was going to chip my teeth the ride was so harsh!!!
