Ford Bronco Pre-collision assist warning B32798A5-A267-42CD-97B6-11D9E37DCBDA

Hoping someone else has had this issue and knows the cause?

My pre-collision assist has always been on and working fine. Road tripping over the weekend I was looking forward to using the adaptive cruise control. When trying to turn it on I got a warning that the sensor was blocked. At the next stop I ensured it was clear and tried again, same issue, couldn’t even get cruise control on because of it. Eventually a warning light icon came on at the bottom of the display panel, and now I get this warning every time I start the car. Can’t find any info on what it could be. Hoping someone here can help before I go waste a day sitting at the dealership for service to figure it out.

I believe there is a recall or TSB for this. It had something to do with wrongly aligned sensors. Drop your vin in the check to see if there is a recall for it.

Haven’t seen that one yet. But this one came on during a drive through the mountains—to my surprise!

It will show that warning when the front camera is blocked or if the traction controll is off.

I find my sensors will be a little ‘cranky’ if I need a car wash. Adaptive Cruise will also be extra jerky. Once I wash the truck and the sensors are clean, no issues. Or it’s coincidence 🤷🏻

So on Sunday my Pre-Collision Assist Warning came on what appeared to be randomly. First time. I was driving up a one-lane-each-direction road, a pickup was a good bit ahead of me - like half a football field or more - and went to turn onto a street on the left side of the road, and suddenly it came on and I slowed down.

I really don't know why, I didn't do anything memorable or of note that I remember. Shortly after the indicator went away and that was that.

Not sure if it was just a quirk or what.

Maybe it is misaligned. Here is a recall notice.

I feel your pain.
But this is how you void the warranty on a new car. Don’t go ducking around in there. Just let the dealership replace it under warranty. Maybe 5-10 years in you can DIY

Hey guys - dropped this message in another thread but hoping for some help here. Very similar to what you describe above. My issues seam to occur during cold temperature. As the car is new, I keep it pretty clean.

My message from other thread:

Hey brianpgreen. Wondering if you have an update. I have similar issues. Just brought my OBX to the dealer and they have no idea what’s causing it. It is clear to me that this only happens when the car is sitting in the cold (around 32degress). In addition to getting the pre-collision warning and parking break error messages, , nothing in the steering wheel consol works and i cannot control the GOAT mode dial. So, on a cold day, with snow perhaps, if i have to put the vehicle in 4WD, I cant. And if I’m turning and want to use the turn signal, I cant. Now, the “sort-of“ good news is that after 10-15 minutes of the car warming up it miraculously all goes away. And now that its spring I haven’t had teh problem. Last time it happened was March 30th. All-in, this has happened 13 times over this past winter

the Dealer first suggested that I wait for this to happen again and bring it in. Thanks, see you in November. When pressed they called the engineers at Ford HQ and were told, again the next time it happens, I should disconnect the battery and do something with some cables, etc, blah, blah. I tuned out after “next time it happens again”. Since it looks like you last dealt with this in teh fall of 21, I’m curious if your problem is solved.

Thx
