Passenger side recline binding issue. Replacement frame cannot be found at all!!!!!!

Unfortunately, my 2022 Wild Trak passenger seat cannot recline back to upright position due to the right motor "frame binding". Part number: PU5Z7861018T. Item is in back order, and delivery date is unknown. Apparently, the technician said these are common issues in the expedition and navigator. Makes me think they may have used same item but never addressed it. I am really disappointed with Ford, that they cannot supply us with parts that they have knowledge of failure. Sadly, my passenger has to drive around in the reclined position all the way back.

Any handyman, in any town, can fix that...probably by using a $3 Wal-Mart hand file.
Take it almost anywhere but a dealer.

If that is the proper number,someone is telling you a fib,there are lots of them available. Yes your local warehouse is out but it shouldn`t take more than a couple days before it comes in.

I guess they tried to do something with it at the dealer but they came back and said needs to be replaced since it’s binding and about to break apart.

Generally,
A dealer is not allowed to make changes ir splice wires or even fix broken things.
Almost exclusively they are
remove and replace type artists. They have very little to do with being a mechanic. If it's not in the book they can't do it, both because of liability AND GENERALLY, a lack of talent/ability.
Insurance risk is their prevalent reason.
Profit and Man-hour are the reality.

Get away from that dealer and go to a mom and pop shop.
If you want help from those of us here who are truly able:
Post the pictures the dealer sent you along with the paragraph they sent you about the details of the problem.

If they didn't send you this information...
Run.

So this is what the dealer is saying. So Ford had identified a quality issue with the frame and is preventing dealers from ordering the seat frame.

That's not a mechanic's opinion.
It's an excuse.
That's an instruction-reading, ikea furniture assembly, type guy/dealership.
Get another opinion from ANYWHERE but a dealer.
