Keep us posted what you find out

Ditto. I would love to hear if they have an answer.

I have had it happen but it only happens when I have my doors off. Also Hill Start Assist failure comes on occasionally. I have seen on here (B6G) that there is a fix (for the hill start) and a known issue so I haven't rushed to ship. I'm not climbing any hills in my near future. 😉

Took the Bronco to the dealer, who ran all diagnostics, etc. Nothing comes up. All software updates had been done, etc.

They explained that when you open the door, or park the vehicle, the parking brake sets itself. When you open the door, to get in, the parking brake releases. (Remember it's an electronic parking brake, so there is no physical connection between the switch and the brakes.)

Their only explanation was "It's a glitch.". They assured me that if the parking brake locked in the "on" position, it would be readily apparent. Whereas if it did not engage, I would not notice it, other than I would get a message that would not go away.

wait a minute… the parking brake sets itself automatically? I have set it myself before but I didnt know it sets itself. I dont hear it happening? Conversely I hear it setting if I pullit myself. I hear the electronic sound ….

on edit this must be only in manual transmission?

Just read the manual. I guess it auto sets under certain circumstances. I must not have ever met that circumstance. Or I am oblivious, lol

Remote unlock doors, and opened the driver door. Message "Parking Brake Failure - Service Now" on the screen, and a two-tone dinging. Message disappeared before attempting to start the vehicle. Start was normal, no warnings or messages appeared after start. Only have 220miles on the odometer.

Anyone else have this happen? Thoughts?

2.7, Auto, Sasquatch, Badlands ... if it matters.
You know, I had this same thing happen to me recently, but it has not come back on since. I have the 2.7L, Outer Banks.

So I have had my doors off for the last few months and my wife was out of town for the first month. Sometimes when I got in the parking break would be on for no reason. It would say things on the dash I just ok them like park brake warning and no doors. I would have to manually disengage the parking brake and just ride no real problems. Well when my wife got back in town she started driving the Bronco and has never had the Parking Brake problem. So then the question was what do I do different than her. Its was simple I get in and in less then a sec start the Bronco put it in gear (AUTO Transmission ) and start to drive. She starts the bronco does the 58,000 things a women does before leaving then puts in gear and leaves. So what I have learned is after I crank the bronco if I wait a sec to put it in gear it want happen. To be clear I tested then went back to not waiting so when I'm being me going 900mph I have to disengage the brake if I'm not in a hurry it doesn't happen.

Only had it happen a single time. No actual problems though, just the message.

So point is if you hit the button take your hand directly to the shifter and put it in gear you can out run the truck from powering up. So it powers up thinking its in gear turning on and set the parking brake to be safe. This is my guess on what is happening.

450 miles on mine and I got the warning this morning. Reset it and after driving around it didn't come on after 3 restarts. Appears there is a glitch in the system. Not concerned, yet.

I've had this happen about 3 times.
It goes away right away, but only happens if the door is open.
Weird....

Hi there. This "parking brake failure" concern doesn't sound like something we want you to experience with your Bronco. Could you please send us a PM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer? I'd be happy to look into how I can assist you on my end.

Mine happened before powering up the truck, which is the strange thing. Unlock, open, get in and the message was already there. I don't understand, and I question my service tech's answer a bit.

I had this alert pop up when I pulled into the parking lot at work this morning. I'm a little scared to go out and see if it's still active!

I drive a 2.3L Base 2022, manual transmission if that matters. I'll be following this thread if anyone has any updates.

So my wife asked me to lock my truck from my Ford Pass App and I seen I had a ton of messages so I check and this is what I found. This maybe something you can look and see what yours says and show it to your dealer. Being if your like me its only asking me to ok it and not leaving any codes.

Also see in pics what is happening & what you should do.
