parking brake, hill start, collision assist fault

Tonight I started my 22 Bronco, and got 3 messages, parking brake fault, hill start assist fault, and collision assist unavailable. I was able to drive it home where I shut it off. Now, it won't start. When I push on the brake pedal to start, the pedal barely moves. The parking break is not on, i tried engaging and disengaging it a couple of times. Tried unhooking the neg battery terminal for about 15 min, didn't seem to reset.
Now, my husband just tried and it started. But when he turned it off, it wouldn't restart again.
Any ideas? I'm sure I need to take it to dealership, but if it starts again, is it safe to drive?

Is it still running the original battery? A lot of weird electrical gremlins pop up when the battery starts to die.

Would also explain why it started once then couldn’t start the 2nd time. Cheapest place to check first

Put a trickle charger on it over night - might get it enough juice to at least drive it to the dealership.

Probably bad battery though - those are all classic symptoms

I would definitely check the battery's health - best way is to pull it and take it to either a battery store or an auto parts store and have them bench test it.

My bet is that if it's the original battery, then it is 4 years old...you're reaching the expected lifespan of a battery for modern vehicles. When they start to go out, especially in these Broncos, they tend to start throwing all kinds of odd, seemingly unrelated errors. Often throwing them on a trickle charger or battery maintainer overnight makes the errors clear up, but it's only a temporary thing.

Presuming it's the original battery, I would highly consider just replacing it and seeing what happens. If nothing else, it's a relatively cheap option, just make sure you get another AGM battery, and let it sit overnight to reset the BMS. There's a way to do it faster I just don't recall what it is.

We have a 22 bronco that's started having same issues. We have changed the battery and went to dealer 1x and they done a software update $300 said was ok week later same again they kept over week said maybe some rust in the fuse box. What yall think
