Hmm wonder if mine is dying. I noticed a discrepancy as well. Android auto was telling me it was -7 out (which it was) but the Bronco thought it was +3.
Mine did this at first. It'll likely die soon

Mine is reading 10 degrees high but it’s just started this in the last few days. This really smells like a software issue not a chipped sensor hardware issue on mine. It was fine since pick up in July 21 to about a week ago.
Mine started out fine.... Then for awhile, a 2 to 3 degree discrepancy. And then one cold, -25 degree night, it went crazy.

Mine was showing 176 degrees F and then went blank. Next the engine light came on. I was an 11/26 build week. I wonder if this is bigger and there are going to be more

First off, all temps are in Celsius...
Never really had an issue before, but noticed the truck always showed about a 2 degree difference in temp compared to Android Auto.
Tonight is bitter cold.... But the Bad Mule has seen these temps before... No prior issue.
HVAC works with data from this outside temp sensor. If I turn the temp on anything below full "hi", it wants to turn the AC on! Even when I switch off the AC, COLD air.
In manual, same deal. Only get heat when the temp knob is on hi.
First I noticed it, it was reading about 10 degrees.... When I got home, over 40 degrees!

My engine light came on last week. Dealer diagnosed as malfunctioning "Ambient Air Temperature Sensor". It is on back order. It is integrated into the mirror. Temp switched to F from Celcius. Good luck with your fix. My FordPass emailed me with the issue/diagnosis as well. Handy app!

I just want to add that my Bronco was showing 58 F when it was 78 F. I took the doors off and dropped the top then got in the Bronco to leave and noticed that it was sitting at 58. 10 miles later it was showing the correct temperature.

Is the engine running properly? If it is then it's probably not the sensor.

That's how it starts. Lol. It'll completely fail in a matter of time.

The app actually says it's the sensor...
The engine relies on more sensors than just outside ambient, such as intake air temp sensor...

Yes of course, they work together in concert though. Unless the new cars use more than one sensor for outside air temperature?

As soon as the car determines that the sensor data is missing or out of range or not coinciding with related data from other sensors, you'll get a code. Pretty sure this sensor won't effect engine operation in the grand scheme of things.

Just got the alert today that there is an electrical concern regarding the “outside temperature sensor”

Going to dealer Friday to see what’s up.

Just talking with another Bronco owner on FB (from Ontario) who has the same issue. His app gave him an error though. Mine hasn't... Yet.

So I have been having the same issue with the ambient temperature reading notification to the phone and check engine light come on. Took it to the dealership and they said they can’t honor the warranty because a rock must have hit it. However there is no damage to the mirror or the sensor. Wondering if anyone else is having issues with dealerships not honoring warranties? And any advice on where to go from here.
