Ford Bronco OTA update stuck IMG_3363

I’ve been stuck on this software version since the day I bought this car (2021 model bought in April 2022). Even till this day when I check for updates, it says I’m at the latest version, which I’m obviously not.
I even took this car to ford and made a fuss about it but they were adamant that my car is fine and there are no updates for my car.
What are my options now? I would love to figure out a way to update it myself or go to any indi ford mechanics who have the tools to update since the dealerships are no help. I really want the full screen CarPlay that I see other folks with.

Why do you want it to update? Seriously, every time Ford pushes an update the damn thing runs slower and behaves worse.

Why do you want it to update? Seriously, every time Ford pushes an update the damn thing runs slower and behaves worse.
I’m mainly interested in the full CarPlay screen (hides the component on the right).

There’s a TSB for various sync concerns and will make the dealer manually update a few different modules. This would likely fix your issue of no OTA updates and get you the latest calibration. Not sure why your dealer didn’t do it. Maybe try bringing it to a different dealer. Guarantee your current one is lying about it not having any updates.

Gotta play the game right. You should give them a problem to fix that can be warrantied. Let your dealer know full screen carplay isn’t working and you also think it’s not updating ota.

You can update it yourself, but it requires a $540 adapter, a 20amp power supply and a windows based laptop with FDRS.

What I am confused about is that 6.1.0 is an update MUCH newer than the one that gave you full-screen phone capability. That feature was enabled with OTA 3.5.3. Post or send me your VIN and I can check to see if there is anything obviously wrong.

Your truck is on Sync 21091 which is indeed software from 2021. The server is showing an APIM update available for you. Your modem is properly provisioned and your truck is talking to the cloud just fine. I have no good explanation as to why you aren't getting updates. On the surface, everything looks good.

I was in a similar boat with my 2021. Mine was stuck on the same version that I purchased it with for probably the first two years of ownership. CarPlay fullscreen update came out and still no dice. I took it to the dealer and they stated no update available. Then one day I randomly got a bunch of updates to a newer version and haven’t missed an update since.

Unfortunately I can’t tell you what fixed it because I didn’t do anything different than usual.. Bronco was parked in the same spot as always connected to wifi. But just letting you know that there is still hope!

@Qasimateen I dug a little deeper and see a dealer tried to update your APIM on 5/8 and 5/9, but the update attempts failed. I asked for a second set of eyes to take a look at your truck in case I missed something, and he also sees nothing wrong with your truck. We may have a way to get you over the hump. Message me if you're interested.

I am having the same problem, no updates whatsoever since I got it in 2021. I called Ford and they told me to have auto updates on (it was) and put in scheduled days for update which was blank but I have put a day in now... so not sure if it will ever update.

The only way forward is FDRS and a J2534 adapter or your Ford dealer. Plan on a minimum of 12 hours of upgrade time on a battery charger.
